I've never done this before as most of my mates aren't fans and I work in an office where I'm the only guy. My wife has one running in her office though so I've set up a team for her. How does it work, do players' values go up and down over the season depending on how they perform? For example, do you want to put someone in your team early at a decent price so that you don't have to try pick them up later on? Or do most people do a team reshuffle every week?

They go up and down based on transfers, so if lots of people transfer them in, their price rises, if loads of people transfer them out, it drops.  People usually make one or two transfers a week unless they're really struggling with injuries, because after your one free transfer (which you can carry over once) it costs you 4 points per player.

Cheers, and do you have to pick people to play in the correct position within the defence / midfield? Ie, for defence, would I need to have Ciaran Clark in one of the centre back positions or could you theoretically put him in at RB or LB? I'll join up to the one here as well if that's alright

All defensive positions are the same. There's just defence/midfield/forward, that's it.

Yup, pretend you're Tony Pulis basically.

Thanks, I've joined up. Now I need to think of a mediocre team name

Have a hunch on Mounie, otherwise it would be Firmino & Willian instead of Mounie & Salah.

That's remarkably similar to mine.

I've got both of those 'keepers, Kolasinac, Daniels, Lejeune, De Bruyne, Ward-Prowse, Carroll, and Lukuka.

The only main difference is that I've got Trippier, Mane, Eriksen, Gayle, and Firmino

You lads reckon Mbemba is going to start for you? Otherwise I'll pick Lejeune.

Mbemba is 4th/5th choice the way I see it.

It’s a small boy clambering up stadium steps for the very first time, gripping his father’s hand, gawping at that hallowed stretch of turf beneath him and, without being able to do a thing about it, falling in love." – Sir Bobby Robson

Yeah, it'll almost certainly be Lejeune, Clark/Lascelles

Joined. My team is s**** but I plan on using my WC after the window shuts down. There's a lot of cheapish players that might become interesting should they move.

I've definitely hit saturation point on this  Can't stand my team, really, but can't bring myself to make any changes because of the regret I'll feel if any of my players with upside take off. Got 3m left in the bank to upgrade De Bruyne to Sanchez and Zaha to B.Silva.

If he gets minutes, I'm all over B.Silva :)

Ugh, can't decide to have Pogba or not. Got a feeling he might be ridiculous this season.

Pickford

Luiz - Vertonghen - Robertson

Willian - Matic - Eriksen - Salah

Lukaku - Gabbiadini - Lacazette

is my current operation.

I'll put my team up after the deadline but I can honestly say its the best team I've ever created.

I really should downgrade one of either Lukaku or Kane and improve my midfield. Whatever, I'll figure it out after Aug. 31

Foster
Hart

Verthongen
Bellerín
Luiz
Lejeune
G. Johnson

De Bruyne
Zaha
Capoue
Phillips
Shelvey

Lukaku
Kane
Mounie

Bottled Jesus and went with Kane (c).

Options for a 7m midfielder are grim.

Anyone see any obvious problems here?  Anyone who's not going to play?  Fallen out with their manager?  Handed in a transfer request? Gone to jail?  Listed as a midfielder but been playing in nets?  Just massively s***?

Think Naughton is ahead of Rangel for Swansea, so he may not play.
I'll be watching the games, and I'll be talking about the teams. If it's a disaster it will be quite humorous and exactly what Mike Ashley deserves and to be honest I'll quite enjoy it. I am totally indifferent to results and the team success going forward.

Now, in certain games should the team do well, I will be happy more for the players, because I feel bad for them mostly, and I still want to see some of them do well. I will still feel comfortable giving the team credit when they do well. I just don't care about any outcome at this point and none of my money goes into anything to do with Mike Ashley's operations.
