I have no issues with any of it, I don't think we should be putting laws in tho...Its peoples minds that need changing.

Just a few things I struggle with, how do you identify yourselves as no gender (none gender specific)  and people seeing themselves as being born as animals in human bodies?

I agree here. if people feel they have been born the wrong sex and wish to change later in life then thats a choice that they make because its what they feel.
I dont get "gender neutral or "none binary" how can you not identify as male or female?
its not the pressures of society forcing you to choose, its the laws of nature. you are one or the other.

in my limited reading and knowledge, it seems to be more of a fad with people of studenty age, much like being bi-sexual was a few years back.
i just personally dont understand it.

Laws of nature and fad :anguish:

 It's absoluterly not the laws of nature. What a statement (not you, Si). Male and Female being Laws of Nature is just factually incorrect. You misunderstand, or are not enough informed.

You do know that there are animals without gender, right? As in there is no male/female distinction across the entire species? It's just not how it works?
And in the end, the love you take, is equal to the love you make

This attitude didn't work the last time, why do you think anything's changed?

This has descended quickly. Can those making animal comparisons explain a bit? Not really the same as gender is it? I know race was mentioned and I don't know what implications that has but I know that this is a much more prevalent issue for a significant number of people.

Let people be what they want to be.  There are a bunch of tedious logistical issues to resolve, but we can accommodate.

What if it was an interracial penis?

EDIT: Just realised an interracial penis isn't actually a thing.

There was a guy with a full body cheetah tattoo who decided to live off the land eating fish n stuff.  I think it was on a Scottish Island somewhere, ill try googling it but I'm at work, so need to be careful what my search criteria is.

This went from changing gender roles to Otherkin and people who think they're staplers  For some mild entertainment, log into Tumblr and search for 'otherkin.' These are clearly people with mental issues though, who have bought into the identity politics of the age and are trying to find acceptance as a sub-group. Not at all close to transfolk. And transfolk should be encouraging these people to get help, if they actually think they're cheetahs or leopards or whatever.

Anyways, great thread, cheers for starting it. I have lots to say about this, and will definitely do so when I have some time. Look forward to the discussions. It would help having a transperson on the forum telling us their side of things as well.

This subject is quite disheartening to discuss given the factual horrors trans people go through on an everyday basis. To even begin to discuss people with mental issues (cat people) on the same grounds as trans people sickens me to the very core. These conditions are in no way similar and should not be discussed in the same thread. I would suggest, like in most cases where one group of people feel uneasy around another, to spend some time with them and learn their troubles - or at least educate oneself on the historical struggles of that group of people before dumbing down an intricate problem into "they have a penis so they're a dude, lol - f*** em for saying something else! Some people think they're a cat, haha. Why don't we start allowing cats in men's rooms?"

I assume most people see how these issues are so separate you'd need to be crazy to think otherwise.

What I often wonder is why the desire to change biological gender, if gender is merely a social construct?  So you feel feminine but have a penis and you accept that gender is just a social construct - then why undergo surgery to conform to that construct? Just be a woman with a penis who dresses like a woman.
