Favorite song on the new one, @B-more Mag? This one is in the top three for me. The whole album is an absolute masterpiece though.

@cubaricho are you into Josh T. Pearson (formerly Lift to Experience) at all? Not saying he sounds like the above but he definitely draws from that kinda Southern/Americana vibe.

(nice track btw, solo is delightful)

That Deamsicle, Only Children, Overseas run is hard to beat, but, yeah, it's hard to really have favorites because the whole thing's so good.

Last of the Country Gentlemen was very good. Lift to Experience are criminally unknown.

The Decoration Day outro gets me every time.

Starts around 3:45, and basically 1/3 of the song.

@B-more Mag Aye, they never seem to get much attention. Shame, loads of great stuff goes missed, guess it's the problem with the sheer volume of music released. His first album was quality aye, kind of haunting and really beautiful vocally. Straight Hits wasn't really on that level (although 'A Love Song' is amazing). He's such a mysterious dude, mountain of man in terms of presence and charisma, rare.

I’m a massive Isbell fan, seen him live a few times etc. Only listened to the new record a few times so far, but it’s not really blowing me away. It’s a solid 7/10 for me, but there aren’t any “remarkable” songs on it ala Vampires, Cover Me Up etc. Feels like an album of (good quality) filler to me. Need a few more listens to be sure though 😁

Damn! I think it's his best since Southeastern. So many standout tracks to me. Like B-More said, that three song run of Dreamsicle, Only Children, and Overseas. Phewwwww.

Never heard of either but I'll give 'em a listen!

Stupid COVID thread has me listening to theme songs to old 80s shows. I hadn't realized Stewart Copeland wrote the theme to The Equalizer.

Maybe I've not listened enough yet, but nothing's really jumping out at me. Only Children is really good, but not anywhere near on par with Vampires or Chaos & Clothes from the last record. I dunno. Will give it some more listens.

f***ing love Idles.

Really bummed that I wasn't in LA when they played there last October. Would love to see them live.
Not one of the cool kids, and really insecure about it.

Been watching a lot of drum covers and those  'bad uk drivers' dashcam videos while under lockdown and I discovered this guy doing drums, arguable better than the original drummer - and no one knows who he is!  :cheesy:
