Rapid pace counts for a lot in poorer leagues so might not be too terrible. Guess we'll see.

Always a fan of pacey fullbacks, as they can get back fast enough to break up counter attacks as well as pushing forward. We'll see how this works out

He should be a good player in this league at least, and that is what matters right now. I think some people forget we're not in the Premiership now. Worry about that when we get back there.

Alan Shearer:

404 games for Newcastle - 206 goals
63 Caps for England - 30 goals
733 career games - 379 goals
Newcastle's all time leading goalscorer
Ended his career by scoring against the scum in a 4-1 win
Turned Man United down, but lived the dream Alan Shearer=TRUE LEGEND

Janmaat replacement then.

What international tournament was it he was in prior to joining Tottenham? Remember him looking really good in that, which led to the move.

I thought he looked significantly improved at the end of last season.

His pace in this league will actually make him a real force so I'm quite happy with this. I certainly didn't see anything to suggest he's much worse than Janmaat last year.

You probably only have to remember his foul throw in the build up to Mitrovic's derby equaliser to know he's not the brightest

Good signing for the Championship from what I've seen, which admittedly is only a handful of games.

Part of a decent defensive unit at the Mackems last season? Likely to improve with games and age? He'll probably be alreet for us tbh

Know f*** all about him tbh. The word 'fast' seems to be popular in the thread.

Google tells me he's only recently turned 23 so that's encouraging. Still plenty of time to grow and improve defensively. Maybe get even faster, too!

He and Jesus as the two RBs in the squad would be pretty solid, on paper at least.

If there's one thing NUFC is known for, it's taking raw but talented defenders and turning them into world beaters.

He looked very good in pre-season.
Obviously, I'm speaking of a hypothetical world in which there is a greater club than Tottenham.

We're very pedestrian so I can certainly see why Rafa might want to add pace. Never been too convinced by Yedlin but I think he'll be good enough at this level, it may even be the making of him.

A quick browse of RTG and the mackems seem to rate him and most wanted to sign him.

They reckon he was improving under Big Sam with him being a defensive minded coach and with Rafa being the same (but better) seems like theres potential in this signing.

Taking a mackems word for it obviously.

Assuming he signs, why don't people just see how he does under the tutorship of a fantastic manager before writing him before he's even kicked a ball.

I've always been quite impressed in the bits and bobs I've seen of him.
