Wasn't for lack of trying tbf, he just didn't want to take a drop in wages. Kind of makes me a bit annoyed when he makes petulant gestures after scoring a goal these days.

Really don't get it. Newcastle's done more for his career than any other team and he looks like he hates it here.

Is going to sign a new deal too. Dat ambition.
Sir Bobby Robson: “What is a club in any case? Not the buildings or the directors or the people who are paid to represent it. It’s not the television contracts, get-out clauses, marketing departments or executive boxes. It’s the noise, the passion, the feeling of belonging, the pride in your city. It’s a small boy clambering up stadium steps for the very first time, gripping his father’s hand, gawping at that hallowed stretch of turf beneath him and, without being able to do a thing about it, falling in love.”

They're taking the p*ss if this lad's getting a new deal. Not up to it at this level at all; like Darlow and, for all intents and purposes, Ritchie.

Atsu next I assume.

We need Gayle on the squad at the moment, as sad as that is. He’s our second best striker and Wilson has the potential to go down too.

He's always injured for 3 months a season.

I mean, we signed Andy Carrol, being constantly injured doesn’t seem a problem.

Obviously if we’re planning to sign 2 more strikers we don’t need either, but somehow I don’t think we are.
