It appears to have a bit of a lean on it. So our Alien visitors are either; s**** at engineering or admirers of the leaning tower of Pisa. Or the cameraman is s****.

Was waiting for it to make that piercing noise [emoji38]

If I didn't know better i would say that had been put out there by my old mate Colin Rose, the sculptor who did Rolling Moon next to the old Brett Oils refinery, at the end of the swing bridge, that's not there any more [emoji38] He loved, and probably still does love, the idea of things outlasting their creator and just waiting to be discovered.

My brother in law 19 years old has been incredibly idiotic, while his Mum and Dad were at work he took the keys to his new car (supposedly not to be driven until he passes his test and gets a job), gone picked up a bunch of his mates, driven on the motorway from Stoke to Manchester, bombed around the streets of Manchester for a few hours, taken the car back home, no one else any the wiser.

Or that’s what he thought until today a letter from the police came through his parents door asking to identify the driver of a hit and run.

No major damage apparently but all caught on the dash cam.

Can anyone please advise on what sort of fate awaits him, google suggests quite a range of outcomes!

What's he hit? Another car? Was it stationary or being driven?

If it's a parked vehicle, which is what you're suggesting, he'll more than likely be charged with failing to stop at the scene of a collision and then dangerous or careless driving. Plus, on top of that, driving without a licence and without insurance. He'll be banned before he's even passed his test and get a fairly hefty fine.
Had a few dances off her when I've been in Blue velvet with friends. She's one of the ones who will push her fanny in your face, usually I like that but hers smells f***ing rotten. Only had dances off her because she agreed to take less money for the dances when me and my mate said we were skint.

I was a pure creep when I was a kid tbf. Used to spunk in deoderant can lids too

Thanks, yeah that’s what I expected but we didn’t want to cause an unnecessary scare for my FIL who is recovering from a heart attack. Hit a car in live traffic. Mates all got their phones out and started filming and taunting the other driver too so sounds particularly aggravated

Sounds like he should deservedly get banned.

Absolutely. Think my in laws should take some element of responsibility for buying a car they couldn’t really afford in the first place and sticking it in front of him like that, it was only going to end one way.

Seems a bit unfair on them unless he's got form for this or is just an absolute radge.

Aye, as an outsider with only the details you’ve provided James he should really be taking all the responsibility. It’s not like it was a slight misjudgment from him or an impulsive one-off. He’s driven round for hours, he’s called his mates, he’s hit another car and clearly not taken any responsibility for it. Really lucky no one got hurt, especially with his mates acting like dickheads. What kind of ban is that likely to be, two years before he could even take the test or longer?

Yep don’t get me wrong I don’t think his parents diminish any of his responsibility, but they will end up burdening the financial impact and they deserve it.

Their attitude to driving absolutely stinks, no seatbelts, rear ending people because they’ve got their face held up right against a massive tablet despite having my baby in the back of their car. My father in law was a taxi driver with fake ID from age 12 FFS.

I remember when I first met my brother in law aged 11 I was immediately chastised by my future mother in law for putting on my seatbelt and therefore disrespecting her driving!

If I was the parents I'd be selling the car straight off and making it clear that he's on the hook to pay back the difference (as I'd assume it would be sold at a loss).

My first reaction too. At the moment though my in laws are still in denial thinking they are going to find a way to get him off just like all of them have managed to marginally avoid driving bans. My wife and her sister are pretty much the same tbh albeit they’ve grown out of it now they’ve emerged into a adult workplace reality outside of my in-laws bubble.

 to be fair it was nearly 50 years ago in a country that couldn’t give a s*** if the taxi driver was 12 or 112!
