Shameless plug to my mate's new micropub on Front Street Monkseaton, should be open this weekend.

Where in town shows the match these days?
Newcastle 4-4 Arsenal: "From impending tragedy to near-triumph via the most improbable route possible - 95 minutes that neatly encapsulate 130 years of football on this particular piece of grass. Newcastle, United, will never be defeated."

Sir Bobby Robson - What is a club in any case? Not the buildings or the directors or the people who are paid to represent it. It’s not the television contracts, get-out clauses or the marketing departments or executive boxes. It’s the noise, the passion, the feeling of belonging, the pride in your city.

I'll have to check it out, shame about the Black Horse too as they'd turned that into a class place with some really good events on.

Been past and seen the Black Horse open a few times over Christmas, dunno what's going on with it, if there's new owners or what.

Is there no decent Bars in town playing Indie Music? Gotham doesnt count. Dog and Parrot is decent but always fairly dead when I've been in.

Can anyone recommend any decent clubs to go to on a Saturday night? I haven't lived in Newcastle since 2013, but I'm heading back up for a stag do in a couple of months.  I used to like going to World Headquarters or somewhere like Digital / Other Rooms for their rock and indie night, but no idea if these places exist or are s*** now?

Also, any great new pubs that would definitely be worth a visit? I fancy a trip to Wylam Brewery as never been but heard good things. Any other recommendations?

Not necessarily Bar's (there's Bars in them) but Stack and By The River are worth a visit.

Wylam Brewery's a bit of a trek and not near anything else, possibly not ideal for a stag do. More worthwhile if you're lucky enough to be here when they've got one of their food events on and they open the main hall.
Jeff's Garage - Cheaper than some other garages.

The best pubs in Newcastle in 2013 are probably still the best pubs in 2019 if that helps.

Sometimes Head Of Steam have something going on in the basement. Indie/Rock music pubs you’ve got Gotham Town and Dog n Parrot. All three are close to each other and face the Central Station.

Just go to WHQ, I've been recently and the music is still class, wasn't that busy but it's always good for a dance.
A splatterhouse turd done in the manky toilets of a discotheque, brought on my the consumption of cowies or toot.

Aye, Cradlewell. Not til Easter time I think the article said. Was falling to bits last time I walked past so would imagine it’ll need some work.
