Can't see a thread on this and surely worthy of a thread no?

Pretty spooky. WTF has happened?

Pretty disconcerting something like this can happen. How can it not anywhere near the last place there was radar contact?

Inconceivable almost.  Thought planes were in constant communication with someone or being monitored somewhere though I never really thought to question by who or how. Seems dodgy as.

Very strange.

I know of something similar happening to a French Airline a few years ago, but to have nothing at all found and no links to anything at all seems unfathomable.

Terrifying.

Was reading the 'possible scenarios' as to what happened, one thin one was the pilot committing suicide, which apparently is the theory to a plane crash of an Egyptian airline a few years ago. f***ing dark, that.

Saw the Air Crash Investigation about that one, pretty chilling.

Best guess here is sudden explosion/breakup but would expect some debris, assuming they're looking in the right area.

Time is going to sort this one out I'd imagine.
As has been mentioned, to just disappear in today's world of tracking just about everything is disconcerting indeed.
Makes no sense at all

 As soon as I'd read Jill had watched a programme on a plane crash I immediately thought of Cajun. 2 stolen passports, neither look Asian...

There is a search area on land?! You'd have hoped they would've been able to spot that. That's a bloody big search area outside of its last known location.

Coverage would be a lot more palatable if the white guy on board reference wasn't constantly mentioned.

Baffling that they can't find any part of it like. Though planes were pretty much tracked/broadcasting constantly as too avoid this. Not like Malaysia Airlines/Boeing are the dregs of the Market  either. Black box will no doubt be a long time gone.

Bloke said that on the news earlier, you're more the air disaster expert than I am but surely there'd be absolutely shitloads of debris if there'd been some sort of mid-air breakup, not to mention bodies in the water.

Seems more likely surely that the plane has simply plunged straight into the water, although any possible reasoning for that seems fairly grim. :undecided:
