Merino was fantastic, too bad he left right away, thought he was going to develop into one of our main players for the years to come.

Would've loved to have seen him and Sean Longstaff in the middle with a proper CAM in front of them. Wonderful.

Don't blame Merino for moving on when he wasn't given any game time. Easily the best midfielder in our team at the time, and thought he could become our midfield general for a year or two at least before Ashley would sell him on for a profit.

Think the fact he had a back injury and was struggling with it was the reason he wasn’t getting as much game time as he had been.

I think the real reason he left is because he didn’t settle over here
