Just started reading Dune. Picked it up a couple of years back but only made it about 50 pages or so in. Flying through it this time, love it so far.

I'm a few stories into HP Lovecraft's collection. Some of it has been decent so far. Fella clearly saw some s*** when he was depressed. Can relate.

I don't know if anyone has read "The Poppy War" by R.F. Kuang? I would really recommend it. It's incredibly brutal but very well written. I think the remaining two parts of the trilogy are out now but I need a bit of a break after the first book, it was pretty harrowing at points. The story is based on a fantasy version of China and the events that took play during the Japanese invasion of Manchuria (so you know it's going to be sunshine and happiness).
