Networks/outlets in produce s*** shocker.

However, this comment conveys a more important point.

Quote
This article is totally over hyped. To claim Netflix is 'circling the drain' because its produced some recent content which aren't instant classics is totally missing the mark. I'm excited by it's willingness to innovate and try new things. A failed show does not mean a failed business when it's still also churning out quality material.
Yeah it's a s*** article tbh, posted it before reading it [emoji38] There is a point there that everything they used to touch turned to gold when making original content, however of course the more stuff they make the more duds will appear.

I moved into video advertising 3 months ago and you learn some interesting things about companies like Netflix, e.g. their budget for original content in 2017 was $6bn which dwarves that of TV networks these days (HBO budget for example is around 2.5bn), they still haven't posted a profit in a financial year despite being valued at $60bn, and the plan is for them to start offering a Spotify-style "free but with advertising" service pretty soon.

Didn't know any of that.  Interesting.
You will not be punished for your anger, you will be punished by your anger.
We ourselves are responsible for our own happiness and misery. We create our own Heaven. We create our own Hell. We are the architects of our own fate.
Student says " I am very discouraged. What should I do?" Master says, "encourage others."
We are what we think. All that we are arises with our thoughts. With our thoughts, we make the world.
It takes a wise man to learn from his mistakes, but an even wiser man to learn from others.
This is what should be done. By one who is skilled in goodness, and who knows the path of peace: Let them be able and upright, straightforward and gentle in speech. Humble and not conceited, contented and easily satisfied. Unburdened with duties and frugal in their ways. Peaceful and calm, and wise and skillful, not proud and demanding in nature. Let them not do the slightest thing that the wise would later reprove.

I had pretty high hopes for Friends from College but it was lacking so much. I think giving it a 6/10 would even be a bit generous.

Started Orphan Black. Not really sure what to make of it but the lass playing all the different characters is great. The lesbian hippie sister is ridiculous :smitten:

I'm on S4 atm, it's very watchable and the lass in the lead does an incredible job playing the different roles.

Third series of Narcos is out on Sept 1st.

How is there a 3rd series? Pablo is brown bread!

Because it's following on with the Cali Cartel.

Was just reading Escobar's sons book on holiday about how they made peace with the cali cartel after Pablos death.

I was all in in episode one when she got her lovely arse out. 19 episodes later no more arse and loads of average tv.
So raise your fists and march around
Dont dare take what you need
I'll jail and bury those committed
And smother the rest in greed
Crawl with me into tomorrow
Or i'll drag you to your grave
I'm deep inside your children
They'll betray you in my name

Sleep now in the fire

The doc on the French football team on netflix is absolutely brilliant. Thuram is a really interesting bloke. Doesn't give a f*** what people think of him. Boumsong made an appearance as well
"Lots of young fellas runnin' around in shorts, that's the kind of think you like looking at, and I bet you like that too, only you're probably imagining what they'd look like without shorts, you're sitting there imagining that with a big smile on your face, ya dirty fecker"

Anyone given those two new shows a go: Ozark and Friends From College ?

Very different styles but I am intrigued as to whether they're any good.

I've read Friends from College is dreadful, but no idea on Ozark.

3 episodes in on Ozark, quite enjoying is so far. As an Arrested Development fan it takes a bit to see past Michael Bluth, but he's been pretty decent so far.

Watched the first few episodes and fell asleep. Feels a bit half-baked and I can't tell if it's the writing or the acting.
