Apprehensive, we have a meeting with the social worker Friday as my brother and his wife are finally being brought to court over their alcoholism, to take their two nippers away.

Looks like we're going to foster them for a initial 6 month period, my brother and his wife just won't stop drinking despite the help they've been given. Not going to criticize them as their addiction has got the better of them, we're just going to concentrate on the little uns and hope they get themselves sorted out to so they can have them back.

It's going to be a big disruption to our lives but it's the right thing to do, we can't let them go into state fostering it would kill my Mum and their other Nan, who they could still go to, to be fostered but she's 70.

My world is one big headache right now, my boss who's a good mate has had a heart attack (he's OK for now) so I'm in charge of my department at work without enough staff, and not being paid to manage it, in fact the bizarre thing despite having 26 senior managers, not one has called to see if we need help, or see how my boss actually is. It's an utter disgrace their lack of concern for anything really, just gravy train c***s.

Unbelievable effort Bimpy. I know you’ll just say it’s one of those things anyone would do but a lot of people wouldn’t make their own lives more challenging to support others even if they were family. Wishing you all the best

Cheers guys  ;)

The wheels don't stop turning do they ? You just have to carry on and get on with it, I must admit while I'm not stressing at all, well i don't think I am. I'm just feeling tired, not physically like just tired out in general.

My nephews are now with us, what a horrible day this has been.

Cast iron stipulations in place in regard to my brother and his wife and her mother, which i totally understand and will adhere to but they have restricted my Mum's access, which is completely unfair on a 78 year old lady who's done nothing wrong. I've never seen my Mum so upset, it's heart breaking and I'm absolutely knackered, life is what is it is i guess.

Dunno what to say, B. Certain you'll do what's best. Without knowing everything it seems harsh on your mom there.

The boys are in a good place if they’re with you and the Mrs. Bimpy. You’re a good egg and you’ll do right by them. Feel for your mom though, can’t imagine how heart-wrenching that must be for her.

Cheers good people ;)

We had a surprisingly good nights sleep, both boys are happy.
I however feel guilty that my eldest has moved in with his other Nan for now, he didn't want to share a room with his brother.

It just doesn't feel right, i feel awful despite him being absolutely fine with it.

If mentally exhausted can be a mood...Just got back to Paris from Niger. I thought I have seen bad roads, but 2300 km of tracks in Niger brought it to a new level.

The trip was off the charts crazy. Among other things, I crashed the general’s drone into a cliff and caused a little international incident. After a long search around the last GPS coordinates, the smashed drone was found. But on the way back, the kid transporting it was arrested by police and the drone was confiscated, most likely urged on by a political rival of the general’s. Fortunately it was sorted out in the end.

Overall, this story is very exciting. General Tarka is a truly decent guy, and probably the most intellectual person I have ever met. His tackling the problem of terrorists and insurgents through dialogue and addressing the grievances of the people has played a massive part in Niger’s label as Last Man Standing in the Sahel.

Despite its lack of infrastructure Niger is a fantastic country, with a lovely diversity of people. We put together an impromptu concert for the musician Bombino at the Cure Sale (think Burning Man but on a way more massive scale, and no hipsters), and thousands of Tuareg and Foulani people showed up within minutes. Niger maybe one of the poorest countries on earth, but it is strangely one of the happiest places I have been. Really highlights to me what miserable b******s we are. I will post some photos later.

RIP to the drone
Not one of the cool kids, and really insecure about it.

That sounds amazing.  The approach to insurgents sounds something to learn from as well

Great, I haven't drank for 2 weeks whilst I didn't drink everyday I was most days so decided to give it a break and I feel great. I found it surprisingly hard at first.

Good stuff man, keep it up.

I'm feeling pretty good, had a work lunch in Aberdeen yesterday which was a long day and would previously have been a big drinking occasion but I survived intact.

Aye. Just felt I did it at the same time as you and you came out tops every time. Just in a bad mood now after Pixelhax.

Have to get this out now:

Pixel you're either hacking with the demo, or you're too f***ing good to constantly hammer us to the ground with it every time we play. Starts to take the p*ss a bit. I mean, I don't want you to not enjoy the game, but at the same time I'd quite like to enjoy playing it too.

Well Done! I know you stopped a while ago but I imagine their are always challenges. I do plan to drink again but when I can be in control and it be a few times a month.
