Refereeing over the last 5 years seems to have really deteriated. Think top level officiating g these days is at the same standard 2nd tier officiating was 10 years ago

Pickford not getting a card of either colour for the rugby tackle suggests the ref did not even know the rules, let alone make an error of judgement.

Just seen the Yedlin one from the first half, another clear pen not given.

What is there left to say.

What made it so strange is that none of our players really appealed for it, and the commentators seemed to ignore it in real time. But on replay it looks so blatant. I'm not sure VAR would have helped us - unless it was one of those when the fourth referee says "You have to stop and look at this".

Lerma red card?

Red card all day long, studs showing, over the top of ball which he didn't get, so getting the ball can't be used as an excuse. s**** refereeing seeing as the blind c*** was looking straight at it.

we have soft penalties and reds given against us so often, and clear offences against us let go so often its beyond coincidence or a joke.

And when we do get a wrong call for us (Perez winner v Everton), it's normally in the same game where we have been f***ed over anyway.

Honestly think most people have based these views of the decisions based on it being Mike Dean making them. He completely f***ed us over against Wolves, but I don't think there was a great deal wrong to complain about on Saturday.

4 huge game-changers for me.

The extremely soft penalty he gave them

The inconsistency to not give us one for an arguably stronger offence on Rondon.

The penalty-miss for Yedlin

The potential red card for Lerma

Totally disagree, red card and two penalties for us especially the one of Rondon if he gives theirs then that is even more one

 Perez is in a UFC fight every match but we're dirty.
That stat is much more who has the ball more. Less possession means you commit more fouls and get fewer fouls for you.

I've been saying it for ages but Fernandinho is the dirtiest player in the league. Not in an old-school way where he wants to hurt people, but in the modern professional foul way. He doesn't get punished anywhere near enough for it.

For some reason those are very rarely given. If the player with the ball shoots/crosses and then gets taken out nothing is given. It's like some weird unwritten rule.

Changed my mind about dean's performance.  Clear pen on yedlin, I'd say it was an orange card challenge but it's a clear pen.

Even the 3 neutrals on Goals on Sunday (one of them Darren Bent) said NUFC were hard done by on Saturday.

None of our players even asked for a pen for one of them. Can't see Deany thinking it was pen worthy if our own players don't.

Same as the one Burnley didn’t get though (Ritchie)

Aye it shouldn't, but unfortunately this isn't the land of chocolate. Mike Dean, and every other ref, aren't robots, and if our own players don't think it's a pen, there's no chance in f***ing heck that the Deanmeister is going to give it.

Did Bournemouth players appeal much for their pen?

Nah, players job is to play football, not appeal for decisions.

Sure. Naive as f***, but sure.

Either way, they weren't not-appealing because they're staunchly principled footballers, they just didn't think it was a pen. Yedlin just watches the ball float into the keepers arms while lying on the ground. No-one else does anything.
