So clever how it's constantly slowing down but never does. The aural equivalent of one of those fractal videos (but they felt able to finish it after four minutes, unlike those fractal videos). I guess they just restart the slowing loop at the exact point it reaches half (or whatever divisor) tempo but still a pretty unique effect :)

Weird that, oddly quite pleasing to listen to though if a little unsettling.

Enjoying this atm

That's not my sort of thing alas but someone can probably assist (or a look at the associated artists here might also help..)

Aphex Twin spent a good couple of albums sounding along those lines, mind, if you want to bond but still come across like a superior uncle who knows all the important influences [emoji38]

How lovely  :aww:

That Deadfall thing sounds like straight up dubstep to me (a kind of electronic genre that is based on really bombastic and sometimes the more-obnoxious-the-better 'drops' (when the music kicks off).

It's not a genre I'm largely that familiar with as I prefer more ambient and spacious stuff, but you could fire some Blawan and see if it smashes his head up in the best way (like it did for me), or as OC says speak with him about Aphex Twin, see what he's familiar with.

A bit nocturnal for a Friday afternoon, but this is my favourite electronic track of all time. It is f***ing perfect.

Burial is/was at his best when he was making stuff like that. It's a bit corny but him himself describes it perfectly:

Quote
"It's more about when you come back from being out somewhere; in a minicab or a night bus, or with someone, or walking home across London late at night, dreamlike, and you've still got the music kind of echoing in you, in your bloodstream, but with real life trying to get in the way. I want it to be like a little sanctuary. It's like that 24-hour stand selling tea on a rainy night, glowing in the dark. It's pretty simple"

I always think of Burial and Solar Fields as the two distinct places that Future Sound Of London would have logically ended up depending on which muse they followed.  Prefer Solar Fields meself but when Burial is on form there aren't many can compete

Aye, I think I read that interview, or a similar one where he was describing how he arrived at the sound, like those stories about how he'd never go to the raves but his brother would come home and tell him about it and he'd be left imagining it, trying to construct it from the music to the journey through London late at night, with the little fragments of information he picked up. Much like his music in a way.

I dunno really, but the second I heard Where Is Home I fell in love with it, it's a masterpiece. He has other amazing s*** like Ghost Hardware, Ashtray Wasp, Truant, Come Down To Us etc etc etc. but this track just rises to the top for me time after time.
