Couldn't care less about Union like. I'm a fan of league though, always remember the Challenge Cup final when we got one over on the Rhinos winning 25-24. Amazing match to be at and a great day out.

Nice derby game to kick off this season as well.

I really enjoy Rugby Union but I don't have time to follow it as well as football. I used to be a season ticket holder at the Falcons, now I only really watch the big internationals.

i had a shot at first reply in the thread and considered this myself!!
So raise your fists and march around
Dont dare take what you need
I'll jail and bury those committed
And smother the rest in greed
Crawl with me into tomorrow
Or i'll drag you to your grave
I'm deep inside your children
They'll betray you in my name

Sleep now in the fire

Thats a given. It is shame he is poor under the hight ball, can't run with the ball as he ends up squeezing/cuddling it & it pops out because apart from that he is canny!!!!!

Thurston vs Marshall :fwap:

New Super League season then, not really too fussed as Halifax despite having the stadium, the Championship title etc. Probably won't get a licence. Expect us to throw a very public tantrum like Widnes did the first time when they didn't get in. NRL hopefully my South Sydney Rabbitohs will make the play-offs after somehow missing out last year, but that doesn't get going till next month.

Predictions

Super League: Wigan - Added to their title winning team from last year, can't look past them.
Challenge Cup: St. Helens - Can see them beating Warrington to deny the Wolves the trophy 3 years running.
Championship: Widnes - They will some how spawn their way to the title just to validate their inevitable franchise selection.
Northern Rail Cup: Halifax - We've won everything else at this level, so why not this? Nice day out to Blackpool and a trophy.
NRL: Rabbitohs - Just a heart prediction. Not really based on anything

Licences: Wakefield to be demoted despite being taken over today, condemning them to freefall, 4 years with no SL, think their 'fanbase' will stick around? I don't. Well done RFL, ruining another club. Widnes to be promoted. Halifax to be denied despite having a better stadium than Castleford, Salford, Harlequins, Crusaders, Bradford etc. etc.

Really can't see past the NRL All Stars, that team is awesome, even throughout the bench. The backs are simply :fwap:-tastic. Hope Benji produces some magic, I've missed him!

Predictions:

Super League: Wigan - Have the best squad and the best coach, should win fairly convincingly in my opinion. Warrington will be their main rivals.
Challenge Cup: Hull FC (please)/Wigan - We're due one at Wembley ffs. Other than me dreaming, can't see past Wigan again.
Championship: Featherstone - Looked really strong last season and reckon they can do it again despite losing some of their better players. Barrow to push them close.
Northern Rail Cup: Halifax - Not sure why, just picked them for the sake of it. :)
NRL: Rabbitohs/Wests - Think they both have brilliant chances. Inglis to the Rabbits gives them some awesome firepower and Wests look like a strong outfit again. NZ Warriors to be the surprise package.

Licences: Wakefield out, Widnes in. If another team goes, it may be Quins but can't see it.

I like your predictions, Ash. Wouldn't mind see Hull win at Wembley at all. I'd like to see us make the Quarters of the Challenge Cup, bit of extra money. I'd absolutely love it if the Rabbitohs won the NRL title, they've been my team since I was 6 and I went to Oz and NZ on a Rugby League tour, saw them beat Gold Coast. Also saw Penrith v Auckland Warriors as they were known then and Manly v North Sydney Bears at Brookvale Oval. Would highly recommend visiting Brookvale to anyone, great Rugby ground. Great, vivid memories of that holiday even though I was only a bairn.

Another prediction: Queensland to win State of Origin again.

Went to Halifax's first game in the Northern Rail Cup last weekend. 28-22 win over Swinton, we were very rusty and only had two fit props, so a good result. Playing Oldham at home this weekend, should be a good game, hopefully get a decent crowd after last years League success.

Queensland for SoO is pretty much a certainty too.

Went large on Warrington.  I always like that first hit Morley whacks on Crabtree.

I think the Magic weekender has found its home as the season curtain raiser.

Might as well put my predictions in as well:

Super League: Wigan
Challenge Cup: Leeds  :thdn:
Championship: Halifax
Northern Rail Cup: Halifax
NRL: Wests Tigers
SoO: Queensland  :thdn:

As much as I hope you're right about FC and the Challenge Cup Ash, I can't see us winning it
