Your vision will become clear only when you can look into your own heart. Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes.

Guys. I want thinking of putting the auld bird into the Lennys Lasses thread.

Ah man, I made such a N-O post.
Sir Bobby Robson: “What is a club in any case? Not the buildings or the directors or the people who are paid to represent it. It’s not the television contracts, get-out clauses, marketing departments or executive boxes. It’s the noise, the passion, the feeling of belonging, the pride in your city. It’s a small boy clambering up stadium steps for the very first time, gripping his father’s hand, gawping at that hallowed stretch of turf beneath him and, without being able to do a thing about it, falling in love.”

Had a hurricane named after them, too.

Fenwick's window has always been canny but I swear it's only been such a big 'thing' in the last few years.

Like with the whole grand openings etc

Same here, in the 70s. As far as I know it's always been a thing.

It's always been a big thing but not as grand scale as it is now. Guess it's the social media influence

I wouldn't have a clue how grand it is today, but it was a major event when I was a kid. Mind people didn't queue like it was a new iphone.

You'd go and see Santa on the same day, usually. And you never doubted whether he was the one, because you never saw him anywhere else.

Would never miss Fenwick's window at Christmas when I was a kid. The Aliens one was unforgivable, though.
