He was PDC from 2002-2003 then went to BDO from 2004-2009 before reverting back to PDC March last year!

What's the difference? Is BDO something to do with not using deoderant?

BDO used to run all of the Darts but about 22 years ago,  all the big players of that time such as Bristow, Lowe, Dellar, Wilson etc weren't happy with the way the game was being run so they broke away and formed the PDC, with the help of sky money.  Was a major gamble at the time but proved to be a master stroke,  now the PDC is massive,  even tried to buy out  the BDO a few months back.  I think BDO kind of runs the amateur side of the game and PDC want to invest in that to help grow the sport although i might be wrong.

No you're about spot on. Hearn offered to amalgamate the two but the BDO refused. More than likely because the s**** in the BDO will just disappear.

Surely though its 'the s****' that makes the game?
The equivilent of the kids kicking it about in pub football who'll always look to play at the highest level their ability will take them to? Would that fella from Stanley have got anywhere near a final if he'd opted for the SKY route? What does the PDC do at grass roots?

The split and getting a deal with Sky are the best things to ever happen to the sport. The fact that Sky now have wall to wall coverage of 6 or 7 tournaments while the BDO STILL, 18 years on only have one TV tournament all year which plays second fiddle to repeats of Dads Army and Last of the summer wine on the BBC is conclusive proof of that.

Fair play to the original breakaway group who only wanted to earn a living from the game, and risked their careers to get it, they've been proven totally right and are now reaping the rewards with the game becoming as popular as it's ever been - no thanks to Olly Croft (who has great similaritys to Mike Ashley).

Their have been some decent players in the BDO over the last five or six years (Van Barneveld, King, Klassen, Van Der Voort, Thornton, Webster, Anderson, Whitlock). The trouble is as soon as they get to a decent standard they have no incentive to stay. They can get as much for reaching the second round of a PDC event as they can for winning the top BDO tournament. Anyone who can throw a 15 dart leg is better off playing in the PDC.

I hope they accept Barry Hearn's offer to amalgimate the two under the PDC banner, especially as the BDO are in massive debt.

Hopefully it won't be too long before they don't have a choice. Webster said after getting knocked out of the quarters or semis last year and with a £4,000 cheque that he wouldn't be back. He won £60,000 for coming third at the PDC.

Heard Tony Green say that aswell. What an absolute joke!! I honestly think he'd struggle to take a leg against Taylor.

Well he only managed to take 4 against Taylor in their semi final match which he lost 6-0 (3-0, 3-1, 3-1, 3-2, 3-0, 3-0). But there is no shame in being battered by the greatest thrower of arrows the world has ever seen. Even the players closest to The Power very rarely beat him. Of course he loses every now and then but he is a different level, it's just not fair to measure the rest of the players against him.

Given how he has been about 1/4 to win the title every year for the last god knows how long 8/1 seems a fair price. I can definitely see him winning let's say 3 out of the next 5 so no reason to suggest he won't get to 20. He said on talksport this morning that he was aiming for 20 before he retires.

Whitlock has been announced as one of the two wildcard entrants for the upcoming Premier League. Given that his World Championship run saw him knock out three of the guys who have qualified via the order of merit then I think it's a fair shout.
