Hey, tell me about it! Keeping calm paid off. It has been a soap opera like, and I am now feeling a bit of a t*** on the rest of the team who are all leaving on Friday.

Aye well don't feel like that, any one of them wants to keep their job, just like you do. Big shame, obviously.

Well done man, played it right.

I just applied for a contract in Copenhagen, would absolutely love that for a few months.

Well, bit of a turnaround here. After being told I / my team are being made redundant a couple of weeks ago, I then found out they were desperate to keep me on in one of the new roles in Manchester. Managed to negotiate a travel plan that works for me and them, so just had the interview and been told I have the job. 2 weeks of nightmare but it’s  ended well, thank god for that.

Congrats mate  O0

Potentially, they know I'm homesick etc now.  Had review today and they were full of praise for work over the last year, so that was nice.

The housing market is insane there, one of the highest rents in Europe for some sub standard accommodation. Unless you’re going to be working by the airport? In that case Swords is close by and reasonable(ish).

I know, it's the worst in europe.  I would be working in Swords.

Sounds much more enjoyable than the travel industry tbh.

Swords is a nice town albeit a bit soulless. I lived there 10 years ago, it has a good bus link into the city centre but at night it’s a pain to get back to.

Yes, I used it once when I visited and went into the city.

my immediate manager will say he's improved my performance so he can claim some credit.

 This happened yesterday, as f***ing usual.

I've listened to some analysis of "George Orwell"'s writings and his thoughts on propaganda, disinformation and lies ring true. Ironically.

I also listened to a prog about how to tell if somebody was lying, and they usually put some truth in the lies.

e.g. "you go to the pub every lunchtime" - true.

"and you are slower afterwards" - false. I'm actually quicker because my arthritic hip isn't f***ing me up so much.

I mean, I have dozens of these lies but they're all just verbals. FML
:) As you were.

Doesn't really tell us much without an idea of how the economy is over there. How much does stuff cost? Like a can of tuna for example.

Tuna is actually f***ing expensive, so is a tin of beans.  Looking at about £1.50 and £1 a tin respectively.  Everything else is cheap as s*** so money goes a long way, especially if you're not paying rent.

Cheese and anything that comes from a cow is pricey as f*** too.

Dont dare take what you need

And smother the rest in greed
Crawl with me into tomorrow
Or i'll drag you to your grave
I'm deep inside your children
They'll betray you in my name
