I wish I had gotten one of the Charvel Surfcasters when they came out in the early '90s. The Eastwood copies look nice, though.

Got an unexpected cash windfall.
So many guitars, so much choice...
Can't decide between a Telecaster Baja - which look magnificent - or a Strat, which I don't currently have and have never played.
Suggestions?

Classic series Fenders selling cheap atm with the vintera series coming out, might be worth a look at.

Went into my local Guitar Guitar yesterday to get a bit of inspiration, but those sales guys just won't stop...
'Hello, are you alright?'
'Yeah, just browsing'
'Oh, what are you browsing for?'
'Ffffuuuuuuuu...'

I've been reading up, watching and listening to a lot of videos of the Fender Tele Baja.
It looks amazing - 50s brass saddles etc - Master Customer Shop builder design.
4-way switch including S1 switching.
For around £650 -£800.
The guy in GG yesterday told me they're no longer being made, so it's final stock in stores and 2nd-hand market only.
They sound great...

Yeah isn’t it like custom shop pick ups but built in Mexico?

PF board though dunno if that bothers you or not, I just got a MIJ 60s tele off eBay for £515.

Yes. I like it, but will it go with the rest of my wardrobe?
I love the Desert Sand colour for it's Bakersfield/Classic look.

Like the “blonde” one?

Tbf I understand the aesthetic, I’m of the white/natural/burst flavour.

Picked up that Tele yesterday.
It's a real beauty.
I'm gonna change the strings do the intonation and give it a clean up tonight.
I'll try and post some pics of the guitar.

£550.
They're retailing new at £799-£899, but it was in excellent condition.
The kid who sold it to me, told me there was a dent in the bottom of the body. I didn't have my glasses with me so couldn't tell.
But when I got home, I searched the whole body. Nothing. No scratches, no dents, no scrapes, hardly any fretwear, which considering it's 11 years old is pretty good.
The jack socket has been replaced once, and despite the fact the strings haven't been changed for a while, sounds amazing.
The neck is fantastic - v-profile, honey satin maple, my hands move easily up and down the neck.

I'm keeping my eyes open for any further 2nd hand bargains - pending another tax rebate or a win...

I'm really getting interested in the Fender Vintera Jazzmasters.
They look - and sound - unusual and beautiful.

What colour were you going to go for?

Matching headstocks look great on them, I’ve only seen them in studio photos though.

Oh, I'd have all of them colourwise.
The white one with the reddish tortoiseshell pick guard looks really nice.

Where do I start? How do I keep it in tune? Can I use one finger to press two strings?
