i've possibly already posted this in here but we werer talking about it tonight......

Mrs M thought that, you know the "pause live tele" stuff ? that it would work on every channel even those you werent watching. ie watching bbc 1, turn it over and rewind bbc2 for an hour.
Bullshitters misrepresent themselves to their audience not as liars do, that is, by deliberately making false claims about what is true. In fact, bullshit need not be untrue at all.

Rather, bullshitters seek to convey a certain impression of themselves without being concerned about whether anything at all is true. They quietly change the rules governing their end of the conversation so that claims about truth and falsity are irrelevant.

Why couldn't she just record BBC2 while she watched BBC1?

I told himself that there was an Apple store opening in Eldon Square. After he started at me blankly for 5 minutes and I repeated myself, I realised that he thought I meant a fruit shop that only sold apples.

She told me that there was an Apple store opening in Eldon Square. After staring at her blankly for 5 minutes she repeated herself, & then realised that she should have been more specific, as most people would think she meant a fruit shop that only sold apples.

Aye, they're obviously such grumpy old men that when you mention "Apple store" instead of equating that with the finest technology of the moment they hark back to the days of Adam and Eve!

Reet - first off, I thought you said Apple 'stall' - you mumbled and didn't make it clear. That's why you got the blank look. I was figuring out if meant the shitty market that was part of Eldon Sq which is why an apple stall seemed a little plausible. Secondly, Apple 'stores' are like rocking horse s*** and not exactly a major name on the average high street which didn't leave any alternative other than some new-age, veggietastic, specialised fruit shop. TBH, I'm quite taken with the idea of a dedicated apple store. Every type of apple under one roof. I'm salivating.

Haha, I've changed my name.

But NH...........is that you?

BTW, I can't be botherd to go through the SSC archives, shame I remember this discussion not so long ago, I just can't seem to remember where it was.

Anyway, I disagree with the comments someone said that Apple isn't a big name retial store, having and Apple store (Computer one) is pretty good for any city.
