You're not from Kettering are you?

One thing I will give Acaster credit for is bigging up Chucho's when he was recently in town.

I usually hate most super-popular stand up but think Acaster is actually really good. Enjoy a bit of surrealism rather than basic observational stuff that's usually popular.

Enjoyed him on Taskmaster. Thought he was s**** when I saw him at the Tyne Opera House not long back.

Speaking of Taskmaster;

DaveTV.

I think I'm supposed to like it, but it is s***. But that is a good thing, because one of the little things in life is that it's so s***, I simply forget it exists. Then something reminds me of Taskmaster, and I go "Ooh! Dave", then login and I've got 2 episodes to watch.

Ah.

Music videos.

Obviously we all have favourites, and my favourites are, obviously (the same as Peter Beardsley's? No.) the best. The video can definitely be an addition to the form, and I'm not recommending it to room 101, but a lot of the time they've served as a distraction to the music.

Might just be me, or the age I was, but there is so much music from the 80s, that I was, seemingly, put off because of their videos. Music that I now much prefer to some of the s**** I was drawn to, as a teenager. I love the music of the Cure, but it doesn't even hint at four bad drag queens (Goths, I know. My mother was progressive enough to take me to my Auntie's specialist shop, but I was dragged, fearfully, through Old Eldon Square for fear of contamination) in a wardrobe.

I guess I'm saying s**** videos are s****, but then nobody makes a s**** video, on purpose.

Weirdly I've never seen the videos for most of my favourite music. I guess during my teenage up to university years we didn't have cable TV, and there was no YouTube. Sometimes go on now and check out a Wu Tang or Jurassic 5 video, kind of weird.

I used to be obsessed with any music video directed by Michel Gondry, still think he's the most innovative music video director i've seen, wasn't a surprise when Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind turned out to be so brilliant. Still got a DVD of his music videos that I bought ages ago, along with Spike Jonze one and Chris Cunningham. Also had a Beastie Boys DVD where you could choose different camera angles and remixes for each track.

Doesn't feel like music videos are as important now though, especially since the demise of music video channels and the rise of Spotify, no real need for them now.

This is still my favourite music video of all-time, incredible:

Never seen the video before. I think between 1988 and now I 've barely seen any videos. I was enjoying the visuals though and it's a good tune. I was enjoying them both independent of the other, up until the point that I noticed a synchronicity (not sure if it was always there, like the ticking of a clock), then it quickly deteriorated into a forced synchronicity.  It's very possible this was the intention, and from my perspective makes the combined product far more interesting than a music video.

:kinnear:
So raise your fists and march around
Dont dare take what you need
I'll jail and bury those committed
And smother the rest in greed
Crawl with me into tomorrow
Or i'll drag you to your grave
I'm deep inside your children
They'll betray you in my name

Sleep now in the fire

Autumn. Everyone going on about "ooh look at the different colours". What, brown? The colours of death and decay. "Look at the light". You mean the increasing f***ing lack of it? You mean the descent in to darkness? The onset of cold. The reduction of life. Darker mornings, earlier nights. Gloves. Coats. Rain. Spiced pumpkin f***ing latte's... f*** off.
And in the end, the love you take, is equal to the love you make

It's not death and decay, it's part of a living cycle.

Amen. Every year it's "eeeeee ah luv Autumn!" Aye, right. Once you've enjoyed crunching about five leaves you're f***ing miserable like the rest of us because it's cold and wet and dark and s***. Shut up.

Can't be f***ed with Christmas these days, either, and certainly can't be f***ed 'getting excited' for it three months in advice. Shut up again.

Damn straight. Autumn weather is tolerable and you get to wear cool coats again  but it's also the sign that the ice age is about to be upon us, constant f***ing darkness, sideways rain, SAD syndrome kicking off everywhere and not letting up until f***ing April  :'(

Give me a constant hot climate and plentiful daylight all year round. Get to do so much more outdoors, everyone seems that little chipper, beer gardens, sunshine fanny and a nice healthy glow to your complexion.

I'm filing people who prefer winter and autumn in the same category as men who call women mate.

I'd take any weather as long as it stayed light into the evening TBH, it's the early darkness that I really hate.

London's a completely different place to live in the summer.
