The little things in life...
« on: Wednesday 17 December 2008, 03:17:47 am »
Here's our chance to share the little things in life that are mildly to majorly enjoyable. I just thought about it there when I blew my nose and I could breathe again (Ive got a cold) and exclaimed 'yes!'

So what are the little things in life that you enjoy?

Off the top of my head:

Peeling a sticker off a DVD or CD without it tearing,

The way well spoken people pronounce the word 'glass'

The wee at the end of a poo session that confirms you can leave the toilet,

Talking to anyone whose is engaging because of their passion on a subject.

Charles N'Zogbia smiling. It usually means we've done really well at something and he's been a part of it. So it's a rarity.

I love witty and/or clever lyrics. It's part of the reason I listen to so much rap. I love a line I can identify with, or in some cases, laugh at.

I adore a good breakdown/drop in the heavier or electronic music I listen to. It's one of the sections I look forward to most.

Guitar solos can - musically - be the most beautiful and emotive thing ever, at the time at least.

Just this weekend, yes. I've also seen him grinning in party pics etc coincidentally where women are in shot.

NO WAY!

The Zog is smiling!

Adding to the thread...

When circumstances force you to hold on to a bladder of p*ss far longer than you normally would. When you finally get a chance to deal with the situation, the relief is unbelievable. It's not something you think about much, but when it's happening, it's bliss.

Cellophane wrapping on new games and DVDs.

Getting a cup of tea just perfect.

The few seconds of pure ecstasy you get off a fresh Jager bomb.

Successfully throwing something in a bin from a distance.

Or that moment when youve forgotten that you have a cup of tea and then remember that you do. I love that moment.

Waking up thinking you have to go to work then realising you're day off and being able to turn over and go back to sleep.

I've just realised that all my simple pleasures are bed related. Distinct lack of sleep going on in my life at the moment.

Really like waking up in the dead of night, glancing at the alarm and knowing I can go back to sleep for a few more hours.

Similar one, but not quite:

When you're sat watching something or reading and you think "Hmm I could do with another cup of tea/coffee and you pick up your mug and it's already half full and still warm. So I guess that's the same thing really, isn't it?

Waking up and lying in bed when the morning seems to last forever.

An old movie which reminds you of your childhood.

Bumping into an old fried

Bus drivers not having change and letting you get on for free :)

Blaming the smell on the dog...

...and then getting away with it! :D
Whether it's God or the bomb
It's just the same
It's only fear under another name
And the corporate snakes coming in to feed
On that pathetic fact known as human greed
Skin and bone being raked over those hot coals
This dump never seems to give time for human soul

The smell of a fresh bag of green ranks up there like.
"Elsewhere, at worst, modern commercial football could be seen as the mall rather than the circus; insidiously bland, decaffeinated and pre-packed, its relentless formulaic repetition an instrument for disabling consciousness rather than manipulating it."

I hear that. On a similar note, thinking you've not got any only to chance upon your grinder filled to the brim. Feels like free weed.
