So I have no insurance and smashed my iPhone6 some time ago, now I'm having to use my old iPhone 5s which is a pile of s****, especially in colder temperatures where the battery can just conk out at 75%.

I've seen on Amazon a Samsung Galaxy S7 which has been refurbished and I've been considering moving off Apple for a while now - even though I have £140 on my current device plan, I'm not going to repair it for much less than that so I'd probably rather just pay it off and get a new phone.

Couple of questions though.

1) Is there any equivalent/better phones for a similar price?
2) Is it worth getting a refurbed phone or am I wasting money despite having a 1 year guarantee?
3) (likely stupid) Can I transfer all of my app purchases from an Apple to a Samsung phone, even though they operate on different stores?

Any other stuff I should consider?

Cheers!

Huawei P20 lite 64 gig is 179.99 on amazon new. I'd get that I'm dead happy with mine and I've had galaxy phones before this. No idea about transferring from Apple to Android though.

Nice one Si, great spot and thanks for the recommendation. I've bought it now.

I've googled about the apps and doesn't look like you can swap them, however f*** it for that price I can't really say no.

I did think of waiting till Black Friday but I can't see much better than that coming about and that iPhone 5 really just is unusable.

 hope you like it. I've had mine nearly a year and am still happy with mine. For the price it's a steal.

http://www.sgs4.co.uk/

Samsung S4 with 500 mins calls, unlimited texts and unlimited Internet for £27pm.

This deal seems ridiculous. Also says it covers 4G, and Darlo is - perhaps surprisingly - covered by EE 4G. Apparently.

But aye, what obvious catch am I missing?
Could probably find a better deal than this with a better phome imo

Anyone have the Pixel 4 XL and can give me an honest review? I have one in my hand here that I can keep but unsure what to do. Might sell and wait for the S11 but I'm also getting Google Stadia for Christmas. Torn.

Hola.

I was hoping someone had a recommendation for a decent phone for no more than £250 please?

My P30 Lite has served me well over the last couple of years but it's on its way out.

Cheers.

I think I'll get this unless it's actually not a great deal? I'm clueless here.

are you off to war, or to become a sex pest?
So raise your fists and march around
Dont dare take what you need
I'll jail and bury those committed
And smother the rest in greed
Crawl with me into tomorrow
Or i'll drag you to your grave
I'm deep inside your children
They'll betray you in my name

Sleep now in the fire

Not sure on the low end phones, but you can get refurbished phones for around £250. I have a refurbished S9 that cost me £320 in the summer, there are a few for £270 online right now.

If you want a new phone then Moto G line is always a good shout, only £235 - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Motorola-U-Notch-display-speakers-Smartphone/dp/B07YP2W8MS/

Cheers Adam & TBG - much appreciated.

That Xaomi looks class TBG, but to get it from a non-dodgepot website means it'd have been a bit over my budget, so I've went for a very similar spec phone from a seemingly even newer up & coming cheap Chinese espionage extradonaire.

I know it's riskier than a Samsung or something but I remember thinking the same when I got my Huawei and that's turned out sound tbh.
