I prefer Newton Faulkners 'Tear drop' more than Massive Attack's.
It's f***ing dreadful imo.

The Killers - Shadowplay

Get out of town.
I like the original as well, but The Killers' version just edges it.

Hard to believe 'All Along the Watchtower' hasn't been mentioned.

Hendrix doing Howling Wolf's 'Killing Floor'.

The Animals- House of the Rising Sun.

Not really a cover, more of a rendition.

The Beatles - Twist & Shout, Please Mr. Postman
Bonnie 'Prince' Billy & Tortoise - Thunder Road (controversial)
Cowboy Junkies - Powderfinger
David Bowie - Wild Is The Wind (also a very good version on the BBC live album)
Metallica - Stone Cold Crazy
Nina Simone - Baltimore

And who can forget Ravel's fantastic cover of Modest Mussorgsky's Pictures At An Exhibition?

The worst cover of all time is probably Machine Head's cover of The Police's Message In A Bottle. Utter s***.

Yeah, a lot of these blues, jazz and soul songs aren't really covers.

Hallelujah - Jeff Buckley, Originlly by L Coen, and an absolute classic.

A splatterhouse turd done in the manky toilets of a discotheque, brought on my the consumption of cowies or toot.

Is it better than Al Green's though? Which version too? The one on 'More songs about Buildings and Food'? (which Keefaz doesnt rate by the way, thought you'd like to add that to the litany of crimes that man commits). The vocals are better on the original anyway.

That ain't true! I was going to give it another spin before deciding if I was pro or anti.

Mr. Bungle do a version of this with all the lyrics replaced with 'sex and violence'.

The Animals (1965)-

Surely, if you're going to have an Animals cover it should be The House of the Rising Sun!
