@ponsaelius, @mrmojorisin75

Worth having a look back through as I was asking about Korea not so long ago. Didn't end up booking though.

you dead set on just seoul or getting about korea a bit, and what sort of stuff you after doing?
So raise your fists and march around
Dont dare take what you need
I'll jail and bury those committed
And smother the rest in greed
Crawl with me into tomorrow
Or i'll drag you to your grave
I'm deep inside your children
They'll betray you in my name

Sleep now in the fire

Seoul would be be my preference aye, simply due to the fact I don't want to be darting all over for 5 days. I'd rather settle into a place and explore it as much as I can without having to factor in time for longer day trips on trains etc.

I'm interested in mainly wandering with my camera, seeing the Garden of the Morning Calm (outside of Seoul I'm aware), taking in the architecture, seeing the more traditional areas, meeting locals (meaning if there's any areas of Seoul where the English is better this would be preferable). I'm interested in finding nice little bars, jazz clubs, cafes and religious sites and temples, however I'm not interested too much in nightclubs and fancy white cloth restaurants.

4 weeks off for Chinese New Year coming up. Off to the Philippines - Palawan (El Nido & Puerto Princesa) and Cebu. Then off to Singapore for a few days and then Bangkok followed by Krabi. Also having a few days in a Chinese spot called Huizhou.

Any recommendations?

Edit: Also a day in Manila but I've heard its rough as tits.

Get a commuter boat down the river in Bangkok, costs less than a quid and is a nice way to see the city rather than using the metro/monorail.

Aye Railay Beach is class. I really enjoyed Krabi, canny through day chilling and plenty of bars and restaurants for nightlife.

Assuming you are holidaying with a young baby? It is fantastic. Limmasol, too.

Don't go at the height of summer though, or you won't be able to spend more than a minutes outside at a time.

Looking forward to my 4 day trip to Bratislava/Vienna tomorrow. Not drank at all in January, so feeling fresh and ready for a good session.

Found some class cheap bars in Bratislava, the castle looks decent. Vienna looks canny too. Can't knock £31 return fights  ;)

What airport is that from? We thought about doing the same last year, didn't get round to it, and now the cheap flights from Newcastle seem to have ceased.

You can fly to Bratislava from Leeds Bradford.

Manchester. Like Neesy said you can do Leeds aswell. I had a little look for end of Feb for maybe a little 3-4 day trip somewhere with missus and there's no deals around. Everything seemed surprisingly expensive.
