Sounds class, I met some people who'd been to Pag and raved about it (excuse the pun). Didn't find Southern Croatia that cheap at all aside from transport/accommodation.

Plus the women of Split are just ridiculous, absolute torture.

Christ, you aren't wrong. The women in Pula were un-f***ing-believable yet the guys are hideous. Novalja was the same although most folk there are tourists.

I'm seeing an opportunity here.

Apparently they don't believe in any sort of self-grooming. The girls love european guys because they are so used to horrible guys. Saying that, a fair few of them had some stunning lasses on their arms.

Home to Newcastle? Man, I was sad enough leaving after 3 weeks, can't imagine how you feel. Safe flight

absolutely. I was thinking 'I need to go home and sleep' during the last couple of days in Croatia (since we were only away 3 weeks we went full throttle, I'm so ill at the moment). Then I woke up with the horrible recollection that I still live in Glasgow  send me back!

Yes. Quality night out (down the reeperbahn) and a reasonable amount to see in the city. Class for a long weekend, incredible at christmas.

On average? 5 weeks at a guess.

You're entitled to 28 days paid annual leave I think (assuming you're working 5 days a week).

Not sure about that, I am fairly sure some at my place on get 25 and I am certain I have heard of some places only offering 20 for full time hours (35 plus a week).

I may be wrong :dontknow: but I think 28 is fairly high, especially if you are new to a company.

There is a minimum right to paid holiday, but your employer may offer more than this. The main things you should know about holiday rights are that:
you are entitled to a minimum of 5.6 weeks paid annual leave - 28 days for someone working five days a week (capped at a statutory maximum of 28 days for all working patterns)
part-time workers are entitled to the same level of holiday pro rata (so 5.6 times your usual working week, eg 22.4 days for someone working four days a week)
you start building up holiday as soon as you start work
your employer can control when you take your holiday
you get paid your normal pay for your holiday
when you finish a job, you get paid for any holiday you have not taken
bank and public holidays can be included in your minimum entitlement
you continue to be entitled to your holiday leave throughout your ordinary and additional maternity leave and paternity and adoption leave

Damn, must be nice.  No wonder going on holiday is a much bigger deal over there compared to here.  You can have a proper vacation with five weeks, not the two you're normally given here.

A lot also IMO depends on other things. Might depend on the industry you're in, you might have flexi-time meaning you can build up some more time off - although this isn't available across all industries. Might simply come down to your boss as to whether he's alright with you taking quite a lot of time off (relatively) providing you get the work done, or whether he's strict about it.
