Note that you absolutely have to transact in cash for table games (roulette, poker, blackjack, etc) and cant buy in with a card.

It's coming though - being trialled at The D in Downtown (I think) and maybe a few other places. That could end badly for some people.

And don't use Vegas ATMs because they have their own extortionate fees on top of anything from your bank.  You might want some cash for tipping as well.

Nah y’all from England and don’t tip anyway, man.

I tip like a lunatic everywhere I go for fear of breaking etiquette. It's a bit of a head-trip the first time you are there though, easy to miss when you should be stumping up when there's so much going on around you. Just grab a wrap of 100 $1 before you get out there, you'll be through them in no time. Have some change handy on arrival for the bellhops too.

On a side matter- learn some video poker before you go- you can play at most casino bartops and as long as you're tipping and playing, the drinks should keep coming- especially in the off-strip places. It's cheaper than losing your shirt on a slot machine waiting on the off-chance a cocktail waitress passes by.

Going to Krakow on Friday, if anyone has any good places to eat/drink or some things to do?

It'll also be the 2nd time going to Auschwitz as my partner hasn't seen it. Bit weird saying to people I'm going for a 2nd time, makes it sound like I enjoy it  it's a bizarre, very grim experience (though I'd recommend it of course, everyone should go).

Check out the Wieliczka Salt Mine.
But only in their dreams can men be truly free. It was always thus and always thus will be.

Annoyingly everywhere just says "Auschwitz and salt mine". Though I haven't been to the salt mine, so think maybe it's time...

The salt mine was a great experience, especially the claustrophobic elevator ride back up.

Been to Krakow 3 times I think, failed to go either. Need to remedy that.

It’s touristy as hell but always goto Pod Wawalem for big meats and beers, it’s actually good though. There’s a bar in the Jewish bit that looks like someone’s house from the 1930s which is canny too. Alchemy I think it is. Loads of places around where it is n all. Love Poland, so cheap.

Yeah I'm Polska daft. Was in Gdansk last month (for second time) and I absolutely adore the place. It ticks all my boxes - lerdsa history, good food and drink, nice folk and dirt cheap.

Yeah, the worst of gambling addicts among us would max out their cards on a fruit machine with no way of ever paying it back and that's s*** for everyone involved. I mean it's why the casino's don't do it now. I feel there has to be more details to this tbh.

edit: some credit cards do have a 'Cash Advance' at a higher APR than normal purchases you can use but usually maxes out ~ $2k-3k.

Just booked a climb of the Sydney Harbour Bridge and discovered they don't let you take cameras or phones up - then charge for photos after. Sly f***s.
Had a few dances off her when I've been in Blue velvet with friends. She's one of the ones who will push her fanny in your face, usually I like that but hers smells f***ing rotten. Only had dances off her because she agreed to take less money for the dances when me and my mate said we were skint.

I was a pure creep when I was a kid tbf. Used to spunk in deoderant can lids too

House of Beer or Beer Gallery by chance? Those are the two that usually come highly recommended.

Thought the salt mine was quite dull. The chapel in it was canny, though.

Not that anyone will ever be able to travel to the US again but I cannot recommend NOT staying at Planet Hollywood in Vegas enough.

Negative suction in the pipes is apparently an ongoing problem and this sound woke me up at 1 am and continued for 30 minutes before abating:

Mate, in parts of Glasgow they'd call that a jacuzzi.
Whether it's God or the bomb
It's just the same
It's only fear under another name
And the corporate snakes coming in to feed
On that pathetic fact known as human greed
Skin and bone being raked over those hot coals
This dump never seems to give time for human soul

My girlfriend and I are desperately trying to cancel this Vegas trip, mind.

But BA are being difficult by still charging to rearrange, not offering full refunds and bizarrely only offering travel vouchers to those who booked recently (when they knew a pandemic was taking place?!?!)

This next week will be so stressful. In no way do we want this holiday.

If it turns out you can't cancel it without massive costs and you decide to go (instead of just eating the loss of not showing up at the airport) definitely call ahead to wherever you booked and try to squeeze some extra buffet vouchers or ANYTHING out of them.

Every resort employee I talked to out there is legit terrified of the lull in business, so are their managers. And this was before they knew that March Madness was cancelled which is a huge gambling week for them obviously. They'll do anything for business at this point so take advantage.

And fwiw I've never seen the place cleaner and better kept. They definitely want people to know they're safe(ish  ) out there.

Sucks about the refunds though, hope they wise up.

Doesn't surprise me that about BA, a f***ing dreadful company that acts like a low cost business nowadays.

Airports are ghost towns, planes are a quarter full, everyone is being hella clean. I feel like you would be more likely to catch something at the grocery store today than on an international flight that's a quarter full. (obviously not sure on the science there )

Fly somewhere sunny, hot, and dry (like Vegas) and sun yourself in the fresh air like a lizard away from everyone.

We cancelled ours because we’d be f***ed (and it’d be s***) if we had to stay in the same place for the duration under isolation. If we had just been going on a beach job I’d have risked it. Service would be amazing.
