Just a few words to say thanks to those of you who sent your kind wishes. At the time of writing that post above I was pretty much s*** scared, having a heart rate of 180BPM (whilst on beta blockers) as well as arrhythmia - it may have seemed a bit melodramatic me saying it was 'torment' but when the only sound you can hear is the irregular pounding of your own heart, and the fearful thoughts rattling around your own head, I'd say 'torment' is a pretty accurate description of what it's like.

Anyway, I'm back home now - although sore as hell as I've had a camera tube shoved down my throat so they could have a look at the heart close up  and they have basically given me an electric shock to get my heart back into rhythm plus loads of drugs to slow it down to a sensible beat.

Folks - here's the no s*** Sherlock moment but excuse me stating the obvious: the NHS is nothing short of f***ing amazing. Nurses truly are angels, and whilst some of the docs can occasionally be a bit up themselves, they certainly know their s***. Now all I have to do is thin my blood out with rat poison (Warfarin) for the rest of my life and more importantly get fit and stay healthy.

Whether it's God or the bomb

It's only fear under another name

On that pathetic fact known as human greed
Skin and bone being raked over those hot coals
This dump never seems to give time for human soul

Echo IP's sentiments.

What you say about the NHS is particularly pertinent. Was visiting in hospital a lot at the tail end of last year, and spending quite a bit of time there really helps you to appreciate the work people do. I for one think we should be incredibly thankful for what we have in this country.

Glad you are getting it sorted, very glad you got the NHS at its best as well.

Full of flu myself, got out of bed this morning after the biggest trip of my life full of flu tablets, my dreams were incredible and scary at the same time, next thing I know i'm at work. Sat in the car for a moment figuring out whether i was there or dreaming. Scary s***.

Got sent home at 2, been in bed since.

I've been having abdominal pain for the past few days so went down to the hospital last night. The doc reckons I've got gastroenteritis so I've got some lansoprazole tablets.

Hopefully them tablets will get rid of the pain.

Bullshitters misrepresent themselves to their audience not as liars do, that is, by deliberately making false claims about what is true. In fact, bullshit need not be untrue at all.

Rather, bullshitters seek to convey a certain impression of themselves without being concerned about whether anything at all is true. They quietly change the rules governing their end of the conversation so that claims about truth and falsity are irrelevant.

The former can be sorted out with just eating more healthily. The latter isn't something you should be messing about with though, mate. Get them checked by a doctor soon. :nods:

Agreed about the NHS. Saved my dad's life, owe them everything.
I am currently happy. Its weekend. Time to unwind after a stressful work days.

Doctor gave me some lactose solution thing for the constipation. Things seem to be moving about down there now, but f*** me it really is painful. Can't wait until this s*** is over, doc said it should be at some stage tomorrow.

Been coughing up green phlegm for the last week. Don't feel ill but just got a cough that HATES it when I exercise and means sleep is pretty difficult. Chest is permanently tickly/wheezy. Do I need a doctor or will it clear up on its own? Google has mixed opinions.

me still, lingering problems from disc slippage and have had chronic aching in feet and knees for months/years, finally checked it out and it's policeman's foot which means another >6 months to get over it while somehow managing not to f*** me back again

oh aye, and about 6 cases of tonsillitis this year too

i'm on the brink tbh
So raise your fists and march around
Dont dare take what you need
I'll jail and bury those committed
And smother the rest in greed
Crawl with me into tomorrow
Or i'll drag you to your grave
I'm deep inside your children
They'll betray you in my name

Sleep now in the fire
