We've had Radiohead and Coldplay, now the last of Englands three favourite bands get to release their latest racket....

Quote
Oasis have revealed that their long-awaited new album will be called Dig Out Your Soul.

The album, out on 6 October, is the band's first music offering since Don't Believe the Truth in 2005.

The band's seventh studio album will be preceded by their comeback single, The Shock Of The Lightning, due to be released on 29 September.

Speaking about the album, Noel Gallagher said: "I wanted to write music that had a groove."

The Oasis guitarist added: "I wanted a sound that was more hypnotic; more driving. Songs that would draw you in, in a different way. Songs that you would maybe have to connect to - to feel."

Of their new single Gallagher said: "If 'The Shock Of The Lightning' sounds instant and compelling to you, it's because it was written dead fast. And recorded dead fast."

Dig Out Your Soul was recorded in London's Abbey Road studios with producer Dave Sardy.

Absolutely love Oasis, but starting to think it's time to let go really. :undecided:

Heathen Chemistry was good but not as good... and there was some utter trash on Don't Believe The Truth.

Tooj will be all over your arse for these sacreligious remarks! :frantic:
Whether it's God or the bomb
It's just the same
It's only fear under another name
And the corporate snakes coming in to feed
On that pathetic fact known as human greed
Skin and bone being raked over those hot coals
This dump never seems to give time for human soul

Cant wait for the ensuing UK tour although it is a shame that it will probably be a winter one this time which means stadiums will be out of the question.  Shame, as I was expecting a couple of mega Wembley gigs.

Expect two nights at the Arena though.   :clap2:  :bounce:

I hate you.

Oh mate how could you "Who Feels Love" is an absolute belting tune on a hot summers day.

Next time you are in your car on said sunny day, whack that on turn it up loud and you will soon change your mind!!

"Little James" is possibly the worst Oasis track on any album.

Me too!, I was at the COMS on Friday and then the two Arena gigs the next week (iirc)

The COMS was great but those two Arena gigs we're the best of my life even though I lost about 2 stone due to the heat!

Was at the Arena in 97 and 2002 aswell, also Wembley and Murrayfield in 2000.

Some of you may not have seen this from backstage at the arena in 2005:

"Wor lass'll not believe this like!"

I still stand by my declaration that "Gas Panic" is THE most underrated Oasis track of all time.

(doing my best Liam impression) "Panic is on the wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy yyyyyyyyyyyyy"

Also wish they would play some tracks from 'Be Here Now' in their live set because "DYKWIM" and "Stand By Me" are two of their best songs ever.
