The athiest experience is a cracking 'call in' show where Christians and atheists will debate. A Christian is yet to come out on top mind.
Could it have feasibly climbed high enough to leave the atmosphere? ???

What speed does everyone listen on? Typically listen on double speed but been trying to crank it up to 2.5x or 3x, keep finding myself having to dial it back down though depending on who's talking or audio quality.

Never even thought about changing the speed in all honesty. Might give it a whirl as I listen to far too many things.

As expected The Totally Football Show is really good.

Looking forward to the Ramble's new European one next week too as Andy Brassell really knows his stuff.

I've heard of people speeding up books to get the information faster.

Double speed would just mean that much more that I miss when I zone out or am disturbed by someone when listening to a podcast

 I'm still listening to stuff from June and now that all the football podcasts are back, I'm going to find myself even more backlogged. Go to 1.5x first and work it up to 2x. Unless you particularly need to concentrate (complex true crime for example), most stuff is absolutely fine at double speed once you're used to it. When you are and then turn it back to normal, everyone sounds ludicrously slow. Was reading an article earlier by some guy who listens at 4x.

I'll give it a whirl, thanks man.

Takes me half an hour to drive to work so I can listen to Totally Football on the way there and Guardian Football on the way back.

Does this mean that you can't listen to the radio any more though? [emoji38]

Thankfully have been working in London a few times recently so have had plenty of time to indulge in post casts on the journeys. However my normal commute to work is 5 minutes. I can barely listen to the introduction of the Football Ramble and I'm already there.

Will be giving that new James Richardson cast a go.  Was gutted when I heard he'd left The Guardians 'cast.

I didn't like the Richardson one from the first episode, the guests weren't very good either. Give it time though.

The Guardian one is also kind of pointless without Jimbo, so hopefully at least one of them will improve.

Must admit, I've not noticed a difference between Richardson's old and new one. If he left for creative reasons, I don't see the change.

Do you listen to podcasts on the PC too? I want a way to do that.

Suspect he just left for monetary reasons?  Can't imagine he was paid much by the Guardian.

Maybe, it's just when Iain Macintosh said: "We want to put James and (producer) Ben in the driving seat. They are shareholders in the business, they have full creative control and we can’t wait to hear what they do with it."

Early days, but it doesn't really differ. Still a good listen though.

Yeah - still think it's the best of its kind out there (although I could do without Kelly Cates being on it so much).  They've certainly started having a few different guests like Leroy Rosenior and David Preece.  Think they mentioned Mark Schwarzer as a guest on Thursday.

Can highly recommend Set Piece Menu if people are looking for a football show that doesn't just discuss the previous matchday.

Cheers Hughesy I'll give it a blast.

If you're into German football I'd highly recommend listening to the German football pod by the guys over at the Futbolgrad network.

Set it to 1.5x and it's not bad actually. Tough during parts of science-based podcasts though. Backlog down to about 40 podcasts. Happy days.

Listening to one about Icelandic sagas and a better one called Rex Factor which goes through every English and Scottish king and gives them and their life a rating. It's quite good.

What's the one about the Icelandic Sagas called? Is it just that name? I'm really into that period of history at the moment so wouldn't mind giving it a blast.

Is the one about the kings when
the realm was unified? Or does it go a bit further back to the Albion?

It's called Saga Thing. Thing being an old norse word for debate/meeting.

Rex Factor starts with Alfred the Great but also has an episode based when not unified and under the old Saxon and Danelaw Kingdoms

Can anyone recommend any that have the same sort of presentation format as Revisionist History, Serial, where it's pre-recorded? I like The Football Ramble and so on, but I much prefer podcasts where it isn't just interviews or streams of consciousness.
