Anyone follow Academy of Ideas? Perhaps considered more mini-lectures than podcasts. But it's people talking about stuff either way.

Anyway, the videos are excellent and really help your brain not turn into mush.

They just done one on the psychology of the anti-hero, drawing examples of the Joker and the Underground Man in Dostoevsky's book to discuss how our innate sense to be more, or be heroic is now channeled or embedded into the strive for vanity and status to feel more than, or heroic... or simply to fall in line and have the societal nod of approval as we move further from, and voluntarily lose grip of the roots of our past, namely myth and religion. And when the heroes journey of consumerism, status and conformity fail us, we're often plunged into the murky depths, recognising the absurdity of the life we've led but not knowing where to look, and should there be nothing of meaning or value to turn to, like in Notes from Underground or even Joker, the anti-hero emerges, victimised, beaten, battered, bruised and embittered.

The idea the video presents is that there's a little bit of that anti-hero in us all.

Started Talking Sopranos.  It's basically just Chris and Bobby (and often a guest) going through the best show ever one episode at a time, and reminiscing and telling stories.  Really good if you like The Sopranos.

They were both on Joe Rogan yesterday, too.

Jon Richardson and the Futurenauts is well worth a listen - range of topics on things like climate change, healthcare, travel - ultimately quite depressing but presented with a humourous edge.

That's the ep that got me into Reply All and I don't think it's ever hit the levels of that one again.

It's still great but that 2 parter was mental.

My pal and I have done two podcasts on time travel - one in general and one about ‘About Time’ respectively - any reviews and shares would be great

Anyone else listen to Gossipmongers? Since Poppy Hillstead tweeted why she's not on the podcast anymore they've started blocking fans calling them out on Twitter. Shame to have it confirmed the reason Joe Wilkinson is so good at playing a prick is because he actually is one. Didn't even really know who David Earl was.
