That 'Top Gun: Maverick' trailer has a lot of the same scenes as the original film (beach volleyball, bar sing-along, motorbike speeding down the road as a plane takes off, getting a talking to by a bald high ranking officer). Let's hope there's something new in the film.

So a reboot then.

Looks more like an old fashioned sequel where it's basically a remake of the first film.

I'll love the fighter plane action but the beach volleyball, bar sing-along stuff was the worst parts of the original (especially if you watch it now rather than 1986).

That was one of the problems with Trainspotting 2 imo, felt like half the film was directly referencing scenes from the first film.

looks like the best bits of that top gun will be the improved action/flight shots....some of them looked class in the trailer
So raise your fists and march around
Dont dare take what you need
I'll jail and bury those committed
And smother the rest in greed
Crawl with me into tomorrow
Or i'll drag you to your grave
I'm deep inside your children
They'll betray you in my name

That is thanks to Quentin Tarantino. In the 1980s it wasn't considered a camp film. With a more modern view, these scenes are going to be nothing but camp or cheesey.

I've corrected my previous post as 'Top Gun' came out in 1986 not 1987 as I had put.

The flight scenes look great. Looks like Tom Cruise has got to ride in a real 2 seater F/A-18 Hornet for the cockpit shots. Those Thetans have really sorted him out an exciting life.

It's gonna be absolute turd, isn't it? Why do they keep sullying the Terminator name? There hasn't been a good Terminator film for 28 f***ing years

Have they made money? Even if the films flop, there are [probably] enough fans to make it profitable simply to keep the franchise alive.

It would be such a wonderful surprise if they Blade Runner 2049'd it and really pulled it out of the bag. Just seems so, so unlikely though.

Other revelations from the event included Miller confirming that Dark Fate – which is being conceived as a direct sequel to Terminator 2, ignoring the three subsequent films – would be R-rated (ie, under-17s require an accompanying adult), and that Schwarzenegger’s T-800 Terminator character is living in human society under the name Carl.
