This event has left a bad taste in my mouth. I didn’t really get why Crolla was getting the state funeral treatment, he was a decent European level guy that picked up an alphabet title, but fair enough if people want to fill out an arena for him. He was guff tonight and got outboxed, they rob the Spanish lad and everyone knows it, and the punditry is all about what a great egg Crolla is. They should be talking about a lad getting blatantly robbed, they should be furious, Teddy Atlas style.

Kovalev winning this fairly comfortably through 5 but I hope he realises that he won’t be doing so on the judge’s scorecards

As long as he doesn’t gas then he could really test Canelo late on.

I have it 87-84 Kovalev going into the championship rounds but you know.

Kovalev is winning, imo, but not by enough to win on the cards.

Hmm. A strange fight.

Canelo should avoid anyone with a pulse at 175.

Kovalev doesn't have the conditioning to beat the top boxers, especially now that his power is diminished. He looked physically weak and tired in that round even before Canelo started landing the big shots.

Just watched it, Kovalev is shot to s*** and was heading to a decision(on my card). We know his punch resistance and conditioning isn’t there anymore though. I’d say he knows it too and it’s the reason he never commits to his punches.

Still buzzing off that fight, hopefully the WBSS can attract some serious investment now it's proved to deliver the best fights of the year.

There’s a huge size difference between the two of them. Logan Paul has obviously boiled himself down to just under 200lbs while KSI was maxed out at 193. Whatever happens I doubt it will match Gervais vs Anthea Turner’s husband.

Boxing makes a show of itself on a weekly basis with its fixed fights, bullshit drug testing, and it’s ever increasing number of belts. With the WBC creating another one, that makes 6 world titles, maybe 7 now that people are trying to legitimise the IBO, 8 if you include the ring belt, 9 if you include the invisible “lineal” title Tyson Fury likes to talk about, and maybe Dana White will make it 10 when he launches whatever it is he’s planning. I don’t know what my point is, but people pretending that the integrity of boxing is being attacked by this are fighting the wrong fight.

Came on to ask why this fight is being covered on main stream sports. It's a complete mockery of boxing. Professional boxers trying to make their trade should be fuming at this.

If there is enough demand for it why not? Brings more exposure to the sport and probably a bigger reflection of the state of boxing that sky were desperate to leech of the success of the last one and that youtubers can sellout arenas and more PPV than the majority of the pro's.
