How was the reception for Woodgate today?
« on: Sunday 22 October 2006, 07:46:51 pm »
I listened to the match today and didnt hear any booing. Did he get booed at all, get a decent reception, or nothing at all?

Alan Shearer:

404 games for Newcastle - 206 goals
63 Caps for England - 30 goals
733 career games - 379 goals
Newcastle's all time leading goalscorer
Ended his career by scoring against the scum in a 4-1 win
Turned Man United down, but lived the dream Alan Shearer=TRUE LEGEND

Booed a bit, cheered a bit. Barely noticed it after the first 5 mins tbh.

A geordie woman at the end, in all seriousness said, when she saw his pic on a programme.  "ooh, i didnt know he played for them.  Thought someone looked a bit like him."

Says it all.

Actually though, there was a pic of him ripped up :P

Were you watching the same Woodgate as me? The Woodgate I saw looked pretty insecure against our strikers and was just down to the fact we couldn't finish a painting that they kept a clean-sheet.

I dont think so.  I thought woody and huth looked shaky, worse than our defence today.

Thought he was excellent tbh. Won everything in the air in the second half, first half not so sure as my view was so f***ing pathetic.

Huth had a great 2nd half aswell, first time i've ever seen him play well.

He only had ameobi under control cos he was all over him!  One timee shola wouldve been away if he didnt pull him back.  Looked like he was nothing better than what we have tbh

Sibbers and Martins absolutely ran Woody and Tetz ragged in the first half an hour. It's weird how much of a worse side we looked when sibbers went off.

Just wish woody was still playing for us he was a class act - even tho he played only 36 games for us.  Woody and Taylor would have been a terrific pairing but wasnt to be decided to join the beasts instead
