Kasabian: Kasabian or Empire?
« on: Thursday 19 October 2006, 05:39:25 PM »
I like a few of the tunes i've heard from Kasabian, what are everyone's thoughts on them?

And which album should I 'buy'?

Kasabian is much better.

Can't wait to see them though.

I like both albums considerably... but the new one is clearly better.
The drugs have kicked in and they have avoided the usualy second album slump.
One of the few remaining non-hystericals.

Kasabian, the cool guy shouldn't have left.

Added atmosphere in many songs on the first album is lacking on the second, still decent though. But the best songs on the first are superior to the corresponding "good" ones on the second.

First album rocks, the second is a bit of a curates egg.

Kasabian wins it.  There isn't really a bad song on that album in my opinion.  However, I really can't get into any songs on Empire apart from Empire & Shoot The Runner (both class songs though).

Second album's a bit Glam-Rock, don't you think?

That's not bad, by the way.

No real need to only get one if you're 'buying' it. Nothing to lose listening to both.

Personally I've never had any interest in the band.

Then why are you commenting on them?

Kasabian's better than Empire, although i've only heard the Empire once... Though the songs Empire and Shoot the Runner are both fantastic tunes. I've just downloaded those two, and not bothered with the rest of the album.

However, did anyone seen Kasabian on Jonathan Ross the other night? It's the first time i've ever seen them do anything live... how hard was the lead singer trying to be like Liam Gallacher? :?

Right, I've already heard of his stark discovery on Sept. 12, 3:41pm.  Pitchfork and music
blog's are to blame, tbh.

KASABIAN by a country mile. It kill sm e to say this but Empire is the most over-hyped sack of cack bag o' s**** I've heard in ages. Chap in earlier post suggested the loss of a member of the band could be the reason.  Dead right that chap.

not really listened to "Kasabian" properly, but "Empire" is a brilliant album, on my top 10 for 2006. Fav song is either Stuntman or By My Side....both excellent.
