Newcastle’s ICU & hospitals are still pretty busy I heard last week from my mate who works in the RVI on Covid recovery, and have been taking people from Cumbria too, but our cases and surrounding trusts have totally dropped.

TBH I can see the rationale to have it almost flatline before the Xmas mixing so it doesn’t spike as badly after. On the flipside I miss being able to do stuff.

Anyway, I was (half) joking at the weekend that you could get at least 3 times as many under 50s vaccinated as over 60s before Christmas as the under 50's won't want to chat. Apparently this has been considered and each vaccination slot includes an allowance for chit chat.

I'm amazed that they've actually thought about something so practical for once
