Very sad. He seemed to be a likeable bloke as well as one of the all time great English keepers.

When I was a bairn I always preferred him to Shilton, not sure he was better but he was a cracking keeper.

He was a great keeper and a little unlucky he had Shilton as competition at that time. Two amazing keepers they were. RIP

He was born local to me, played for Scunny just before Keegan joined and played a part in getting keegan to join Liverpool.

My dad said that he met him a few times and he was a real nice guy. Awesome keeper too.
