He also had arguably his best game for us there against Burnley.

Could you ever see Jo make the move and finish Gayle did against WBA? He ain’t great but he’s clearly a much better striker than Jo will ever be. Gayle will need a bit more support than Wilson does but it is what it is and he’ll score more than Jo.

We need 5 wins or so, there’s no way Jo can score the necessary goals.

Jo won't score the goals, but if we are pressing higher up the pitch he could lay the ball off for Miggy, Max or Fraser. Also you have to factor in that we now have Willock arriving from midfield so you need someone who can hold the ball up. Scoring goals won't be quite as important if we can get the other forwards making runs.

That said, I already said Gayle should be given first shot at it as he can get in goal scoring positions himself. Only one I don't want to see starting is Carroll because then we will just end up lumping it high and we'll get f*** all joy from that.

Love it when people say “play x upfront”, purely because they’re one of our best players. They do actually have to be suited (or able) to play in the position you want to hoy them into. Being fast isn’t the only attribute they need.

It has to be Gayle. Joe isn’t a striker and Carroll barely is.

Are there no out of contract hasbeens that we could bring in for 2 months? I’d rather play Crouchy than Big Jow. Just for a bit more movement.

Could probably bring Shefki Kuqi out of retirement.

Odds on this fella being rushed back and coming to more harm than good?

Play strikerless with ASM, Miggy and Fraser up front with Willock coming in late.  Play Hayden as the holding mid and whatever clogger in the 3rd CM spot

If true and we can get at least 6 points out of next 4, then we might just scrape it providing he stays fit for run in.

I reckon he’ll be back for the Brighton match, that would be 6 weeks.

2 week international break after Brighton, I think it’ll depend on how many points we get in next 3.

How on earth will we get 6 points from the next 4?

Wishful thinking perhaps, but realistically this run of fixtures is make or break for us. We need to pull something out of the bag as unrealistic as that looks at the minute.

Awkward when he's asked about Bruce.

Couldn't think of anything good to say and changed the subject quite quickly.

I like the guy, but saying he's Newcastle through and through, just sounds like total s****. I wouldn't argue with him being committed, but I can't see any reason he'd be Newcastle through and through. He hasn't even played in front of fans.

I've been Newcastle through and through for over 40 years and I'm questioning myself.
