Excerpt/Music Video from Upcoming Film in Niger
« on: Wednesday 15 July 2020, 05:27:27 PM »
Here's is a very short music video of musician Bombino performing at the Cure Salee Festival in Niger. Bombino set up his gear and held an impromptu concert that immediately attracted 100's of Tuareg and Foulani herdsmen. s*** reminded me of when U2 put on an impromptu concert in LA for the Streets with No Name video. This whole shoot in Niger certainly upped my game in cinematography.

Bombino is one of the main characters in our film The Art of Peace.

It's excellent. I can't praise you highly enough. Drones must have been a game changer for you.

Thanks, man. Really appreciate it.

Yeah, the drone really has been. The best shot I ever got was a drone shot from this trip. I had a fever, and was half delirious, and certainly wasn't trying for it. But this Tuareg horsemen overlooking his cattle herd decided to jump on his horse with a flourish and gallop off at the perfect angle. Just completely dumb luck. And considering that I crashed the drone an hour later, and we had to send a search party to retrieve it in the middle of massive cliffs and alluvial fans of stones and boulders, I am lucky that I even got the SD card back with that footage.

Thanks, man! I'm reallly excited about getting this film done. Everything is on hold because of COVID obviously, which is unfortunate. Another few weeks of filming and we'd have everything we need.
