Sausage Party was awful and it actually looked funny in the trailer.

I try not to watch rubbish, so I don't think I've seen anything truly terrible.

But a couple of emotionally dishonest and cloyingly sentimental films I'd like to flag up (they were heavily lauded in many quarters at the time)

Crash (not the Cronenberg one) & Silver Linings Playbook

Can't narrow it down to one so

Batman & Robin (so bad it's actually a good laugh to watch)
Catwoman
Terminator Genisys
Suicide Squad
Caligula

Recently watched Batman Returns and it was so awful I stopped watching it (which I can’t remember the last time I did). I certainly wasn’t going to take a chance on Schumacher’s masterpieces...

Clearly I remembered from Batman Returns fondly thanks to Michelle Pfeiffer in spandex.

How would you know what is rubbish and what is not when you haven't watched them?

Movie taste is subjective. You don't need to be a sheep.

Jaws the Revenge. Utter rubbish before the absurdity of the plot is even considered...

Mechanisms controlling the shark clearly visible in several scenes, the roaring shark, deliberately landing a plane on water to get to a boat, people having flashbacks of events they weren't present for.

The one plus side is Michael Caines comment on it..."it paid for my house in the Caribbean"

I'm not sure if it's the worst film I've ever seen, but the first thing that comes to mind is Anchorman 2. Technically I don't know if it's the worst because I didn't make it past about 20 minutes, but f***ing hell it's bad.

Good question, I didn't explain that very well.

I mean I try not to watch stuff that is obviously trash, like that new Harlequin film or I dunno, the Room.

I do tend to read reviews about films before I watch them, I'm not a hit and hope type of guy.

While I agree that taste is subjective (by definition) there are good and bad movies, maybe not objectively, but pretty damn close ;)

I am not ashamed to say I seem to be reading every other post, thinking I either enjoyed or didn't mind that film

I'd need to have a proper think.  As there will be so many I've sat through that I've erased from my memory.  You know the ones, always on SyFy, straight to DVD, shitty B movies etc.  Then there are blockbusters, with big budgets, that were utter guff or massively disappointing after a lot of hype.

I think in recent memory, Terminator Genisys is definitely up there on my list.  The Dark Tower is another one.  I think McConaughey is superb and I like Elba.  But my word, that was s****.

I'd say Tree Of Life. Utterly poncey bullshit.

Didn't get more than half an hour through Batman & Robin.

Epic Movie at the cinemas when I was about 13 I remember being atrocious.

I also hated Ben Wheatley's 'High Rise'. One of few I've had to go back and finish later out of a misplaced sense of obligation.

Solaris (the remake). Freddy Got Fingered. Chappie.

This is a good shout.

Red Letter Media did a re-view of it a couple of years ago suggesting that it's so bad to the point of being actually a deliberate ruse. I was partly convinced by it.

The Happening.
  I remember posting about that but couldn't remember the name the other day. Easily top 3 alltime unwatchable dogshit movies.

I might go with Gummo though, just because it was so bad.

I thought Gummo was pretty cool
