Doesn't sound like it is near done does it.

I think it’ll roll on in to next season now.

That comment says nothing.

Could be this week, could be another month.

I can’t see the harm in the petition to be honest, without a doubt it will put further pressure on the FA. I've not signed BTW

I think the main potential for the petition is if it gets a large number of signatories very quickly, then it might add some momentum to the decision making.  But, if the count is low or slow to accumulate then it will have no impact.

momentum is what I should have said  O0

Anyone kept watching?

He’s totally out of depth and has a lack of respect for anyone. He’s brushing legitimate concerns aside without addressing them, appears to not have a f***ing clue about what’s going on, nor show that he cares.
As I’ve previously said, he’s there to sign sponsorship and broadcast deals, not run an organisation.

What's changed?
It's basically what gives us the upper hand even in times of crisis. "Cannit wait man, we're gonna batter them, hope it's 4 or 5 nil, fancy such and such for a hat trick, we're going got Europe, they're a yo-yo team" Then five minutes into the game "s***, why haven't we scored? They've had a shot! Why aren't we all over them? How come there are two teams in the game? f***, what if we don't win? f***s SAKE CLEAR IT SHOOT TACKLE HIM BOO! What if we lose, PANIC PANIC BRUCE MAN WHAT ARE YOU DOING WHY DID HE MISS THAT SHOT, IS HE A MAG?! IT'S BECAUSE BRUCE IS A MAG! f*** OFF STEWARD ARE YOU A f***ing MAG? BET ALL THESE COPPERS ARE MAGS, AND THE MEDIA! THE REF'S A f***ing MAG! AM I A MAG?! Wait, blacked out for a second there. Ah, f***, we've lost again."

Nearly 10.5k have signed that petition. Just shows this place is not a true reflection on the feelings of nufc twitter.

There you go.

Do their opinions not matter? Sure more people have signed that petition in less than a day than are signed up members to NUST.

Didn't say they didn't, but NUFC twitter is not even close to be representative of the fan base. Just ask anyone involved in any of the protest work be it Pardew, Ashley stuff, walk outs etc.

What's NUST got to do with it?

It’s a large enough group of people to be taken seriously And comparable in numbers to NUST, so should not dismissed or looked down upon. Some will also be members of NUST.

People on here have called it pathetic, for me looking down upon fellow NUFC fans for venting their frustration in a calm manner is way beyond pathetic.

I haven't.

But I haven't signed it as I think it's a little dangerous asking for a solution now - if people want the takeover then we simply have to wait until the Premier League approve it. There are clearly incredibly complex issues they are considering.

Pushing them to do it quicker - while unlikely to have any influence - if it did, would surely more likely result in a refusal and us being stuck with Ashley going forward?

The NUST letter on behalf of their members might have no impact either, in fact it probably will not, but it was a very strong point by point legal rebuttal of some of the nonsense claims by Qatar re the WTO report and others that have written to the Premier League, undertaken by a specialist barrister from 3 Hare Court Chambers and was sent directly to Richard Masters by legal counsel.

Mackem MP asking questions about us now.

EDIT
Masters: "No comment" basically.

What did they ask?

She said she was an MP for Sunderland and asked if NUFC supporters (some of which were her constituents) should have been keep informed, or at least given some sort of update, given its now been ongoing for 3 months.

Masters basically said as its (the O&D Test) a confidential process, he couldn't give any sort of updates.
Was it Bridget ?
Bullshitters misrepresent themselves to their audience not as liars do, that is, by deliberately making false claims about what is true. In fact, bullshit need not be untrue at all.

Rather, bullshitters seek to convey a certain impression of themselves without being concerned about whether anything at all is true. They quietly change the rules governing their end of the conversation so that claims about truth and falsity are irrelevant.

Genuinely, what expertise or knowledge do you have to make that sort of assessment?

How can you be confident that it wasn't absolute drivel that immediately went into the shredder?

Bear in mind you can get a solicitor to put forward the case that 2+2=5 as long as you pay them for it (and I can't imagine the NUST are swimming in cash so I'm sure it was a quickie job from the brief).

I don't see how you can argue with that; painful though it is, fans have no right to know the ins and outs of the process; it's almost certainly in everybody's interests that this extremely contentious matter is dealt with in the strictest confidentiality.

I think we're conflating 'deserving to know what's going on' with 'deserving to be rid of Mike Ashley'. We're only aching to know the finer details of this colossal deal because we happen to have a preference regarding the outcome. In a business sense though, us fans are totally independent to the process. I also think that, assuming the decision is currently on a knife-edge: if the PL is susceptible to any pressure from the wider public (which I doubt they are), it'll nudge them into making the easiest of the two decisions - which wouldn't necessarily be to approve it.

I think we just need to collectively accept that we could still be here in several months' time and get used to the idea that we need to be patient. If you offered me a new regime and a return to being a fan of an ambitious footballing entity - but with the caveat that I'd have to wait until Christmas for it to come to pass - I would still snap your hands off.
