Almost speechless at all this, like. It's monumental decision after monumental decision..... nothing ever stops sports. Storms, war, terrorism, tragedies etc. Sports always continue regardless. This must be huge.

World war would, that's the point. This is a world wide problem. Thus the need to be proactive.

So Liverpool stay holders of the Champions league but denied the premier league? That would be something.

Absolutely no way of telling how long this will last. Postponing the Euro's seems extreme but in actuality this could be running well into the start of the summer.

In what way is that extreme?

It’s common sense
People should not be afraid of their governments, governments should be afraid of their people.

Aye, it seems far away but there needs to be extreme caution. It needs the world taking measures together to help it pass. Unchartered territory really.

Juventus vs Lyon called off also

Think its inevitable all European leagues and Champions League will be suspended for a few months now

If you think PL was already all about money, just wait until it sees every other league suspended and knows it can run unopposed for a while.

Best league in the world if it's the only league in the world.

Quote
The UK government is considering banning sporting fixtures amid the coronavirus outbreak - but it will not happen immediately.

On Thursday, Prime Minister Boris Johnson said the UK will move to the "delay" phase of its plan to tackle the virus.

There have been 596 confirmed cases across the UK.

"We are considering banning major public events like sporting fixtures," said Johnson.

"The scientific advice is this has little effect on the spread - but it does place a burden on other public services."

The chief scientific officer just said in the press conference that mass outdoor crowds will not increase the spread of the virus.

Seems bizarre and at odds with what the rest of the world seem to think.

I'll admit I didn't see global pandemic as one of the manufactured excuses. Fair play Bishop.
So raise your fists and march around
Dont dare take what you need
I'll jail and bury those committed
And smother the rest in greed
Crawl with me into tomorrow
Or i'll drag you to your grave
I'm deep inside your children
They'll betray you in my name

Sleep now in the fire

Baffled about this - will our next 2 games go ahead?

How would they stop people going to the pub for games already on tv?

Is our country doing the right thing

Yeh they going ahead, when it gets to the point they are cancelled/ behind closed doors they are on about ticket holders getting a stream for the match to watch at home and banning pubs from screening matches

Those poor Toon fans if games do get played behind closed sports/postponed, what will they do with their weekends?

Maybe the powers that be don’t understand just how awful going to the Metty with the wife is for these people. They’d rather have the virus I’m sure! These are people who actually preferred to give Ashley their money to go to games after all!

The thing is ticket holders will just host house parties.
You’d have to give everyone the chance to see it.

Why have you turned into such a s*** poster?

Genuinely curious as to the thinking behind this

My decline, if I ever was a decent poster in the first place, probably started way back in the early days of Ashley. I do hope match day going fans don’t contract anything of course. Wouldn’t even wish it on 𝐀𝐬𝐡𝐥𝐞𝐲 himself!
