I'm still sceptical. He see-saw's from woeful to handy too often.

Will be interesting to see if he can be arsed to drag us out the s**** when we're in the relegation zone come christmas.

If we're relying on a left wing back to be the one to drag us out of the s*** then we'll be in serious trouble.  Seems a bit of an odd character attack on him

We'll be reliant on everybody, though. If one player gives up the fight then we're f***ed. Does seem strange to single him out in this way.

Chronicle quoting German media saying the option to buy fee is £10m and that we’re keen to activate it. Hope we do.

Loosely related, was seeing what Gregory van der Wiel was up to. His career didn’t half nosedive. Still only 31 but without a club since leaving Toronto FC. Thought he was going to be a star.

In todays market that's peanuts and we'll be daft not to. However, we're just f***ing daft so whatever. We'll likely spend the next 6 month trying to haggle them down to 7 or 8.

Another very good performance from him. Nice assist, but all-round his game is impressive.

he's got to try getting a level of consistency, but then again that applies to most of this team.
john gibson in the chronicle this afternoon;
"John Carver has talked of playing two up top in an effort to score goals, tactically be more direct to grind out points, and just about every other possibility known to man or beast. They are the ramblings of a drowning desperado."

With a reasonable fee in the loan deal. Less than 10m from memory

Good performance yesterday. Seems to be getting better each game.

Makes a big difference to have someone mobile and that can pass the ball.

Wonder where Ritchie will be shoehorned in when he’s fit

Not what I'd do but 5-3-2 dropping Almiron, Bringing Ritchie on the left of the 3.
Bullshitters misrepresent themselves to their audience not as liars do, that is, by deliberately making false claims about what is true. In fact, bullshit need not be untrue at all.

Rather, bullshitters seek to convey a certain impression of themselves without being concerned about whether anything at all is true. They quietly change the rules governing their end of the conversation so that claims about truth and falsity are irrelevant.

Is he actually mobile? Maybe it's just his body shape but he doesn't appear to be that quick. Great feet though.

I think hes mint. His decision making on the ball is excellent.

Would have had about 10 more assists/key passes had he had better players in front of him finishing things off.
Sir Bobby Robson: “What is a club in any case? Not the buildings or the directors or the people who are paid to represent it. It’s not the television contracts, get-out clauses, marketing departments or executive boxes. It’s the noise, the passion, the feeling of belonging, the pride in your city. It’s a small boy clambering up stadium steps for the very first time, gripping his father’s hand, gawping at that hallowed stretch of turf beneath him and, without being able to do a thing about it, falling in love.”

Ritchie’s good cover. Willems has earned the shirt though imo. Decent enough at the back and probably more dangerous in attack than Ritchie.

Doubted this signing at first but he's given us much balance at the fullback position.  Fair play.
