How does that change the fact that he's played an injured player twice? ASM could have made it through the match without getting further injured and it still would have been a stupid risk to take.

I´d go for something like this.

------------------Dubravka------------------
-------Schär-----Fernandez----Clark--------
Yedlin------Hayden-----Shelvey----Willems
------------------Almiron---------------------
-----------Carroll-------Joelinton------------

@bodson that team makes sense, you could easily shift Joelinton and Almiron wide and have Carroll play the target man role.

edit: Manquillo for Yedlin

Be very harsh dropping Manquillo after his last couple of performances mind.

Agree, I didn't even notice Yedlin in there.

Burnley will immediately stick Wood on Yedlin and punt balls over there.  Has to be Manquillo for this one, who seems to be positionally better.

I'd like to see Joelinton in a different role, just not fair on the lad to expect him to play like Carroll. Not sure Bruce will though.

I think Bruce might finally have the courage to stop using Rafa’s system now that he’s not in desperate need of results.

I wouldn't be surprised if he goes 442 like at Leicester and sticks Carroll and Gayle up top, probably kills him inside having to keep using Rafa’s formation to get results.

Kills him inside using Rafa's formation...

The useless c*** is thanking his lucky stars that Rafa drilled them so well in defence. He won't go 4-4-2 because he has no courage in his own convictions. You wouldn't see Rafa using someone else's formation so long, as soon as he arrived he started moulding the whole squad in his system. But that's because unlike Bruce, he actually has one.

This is going to be an interesting game. both teams play the worst football in the league. Bottom two possession sides them at 39% us at 33%.

Don’t worry The Chronicle says Bruce has been doing some fantastic passing drills

Bring Sean Longstaff in for ASM and Carroll for Joelinton with Almiron playing off him.
