He's probably been sitting back coasting for months, assuming he'd probably be out of a job soon enough.
Tonight, he has the realisation that next season, he will actually have to perform to keep his job.
By performing, 17th is deemed performing at MAFC
Aye but in a premier league second season, that's a real challenge for Steve Bruce.

Does make you wonder how much plan & prep has been done for next season, not only by him but the rest of the goons running the show. Can’t have be easy like, I’ll give him that.

Still by no means a guarantee we don’t just tread water as per the dream next season again. The league is absolutely terrible.

Have absolutely no doubt we'll survive with room to spare again. People have been going on like the team's pool of talent isn't lower mid-table standard at the very lowest.

Maybe we'll get a clutch of winners from goal scoring defenders again.

Probably trying to deflect the fact he’s called ‘O’Brien’ so that he doesn’t get any stick from their own fans.

Not that worried about the players and expect we will still bring in a couple of surprisingly half decent players.

It is the manager that traditionally does best in his first season that will be the one bringing down the quality and being tactically out manoeuvred by practically all the other managers in the league that will be our undoing.

It's the proportion of our a fanbase that the media will feed s*** about how great a job bruce is doing under hard circumstances etc and we are where we deserve to be. That same proportion that will eat it up.

It's sitting here knowing what might have been and the above press s*** is just that which will alienate the rest of us even more.

f*** Ashley, f*** the PL, f*** the media, the pundits and other clubs that dont want us to succeed. I'm sick of our fanbase being ripped apart. This is our club and for too long we are fighting ourselves not the c***s making this s*** for us all. We need to stick together and stick two fingers up.
Chris Hughton, simply the best manager we had from 2009-2010.

Just saw this on Youtube.

 f***ing glorious. He's not changed a bit.

Had a few dances off her when I've been in Blue velvet with friends. She's one of the ones who will push her fanny in your face, usually I like that but hers smells f***ing rotten. Only had dances off her because she agreed to take less money for the dances when me and my mate said we were skint.

I was a pure creep when I was a kid tbf. Used to spunk in deoderant can lids too

Two things guaranteed in a Bruce interview.

1. “Dust ourselves down”
2. Always interrupts the interview, basically every question. Prick.

That line about his young team had been doing well before this game - 1 win in 7.

Just surprised those who reckon he did an "okay job" last season aren't backing him to do the same next season. It's almost as if they secretly know he's a s*** manager, but don't want to say it because he's a good fella and a local to boot.

Glad it isn't just me who's noticed your second point there. Every f***ing time, talks over the person asking the question before the poor c*** can ask it.

We battered them in the away game that season, only last minute goal bailed them out.

I'm  not sure which football team you have been watching this season but Newcastle have been arguably the worst.  I am including the three relegation teams too.  I'm staggered we are still in this league.  We have been both dreadful and extremely lucky.

We'll definitely be in big trouble next season.

Teams had started to figure out that they just needed to double up on ASM and crowd him out and it was having a big effect, because nothing else was really a consistent threat due to the team lacking any kind of coherent plan or approach in its play.
I'll be watching the games, and I'll be talking about the teams. If it's a disaster it will be quite humorous and exactly what Mike Ashley deserves and to be honest I'll quite enjoy it. I am totally indifferent to results and the team success going forward.

Now, in certain games should the team do well, I will be happy more for the players, because I feel bad for them mostly, and I still want to see some of them do well. I will still feel comfortable giving the team credit when they do well. I just don't care about any outcome at this point and none of my money goes into anything to do with Mike Ashley's operations.

Maxi was playing canny rubbish in the last few games. We were quite unlucky with injuries so we should be ok for next season. Could really do with a couple of gem signings to make it a bit pallatable for next season though.
