  I don't even want to discuss stuff in spoilers, because I know someone Mike will click it anyway and I really don't want to be the person who spoiled Parasite.

Ladybird on Netflix, looked like my kind of thing but I'd say it was just OK. Nice message though.

Watched Ladybird last night. Liked it but it's fantastic or owt. Saoirse Ronan is f***ing class as always.

Saoirse Ronan and Emma Stone  :smitten:

Yeah Saoirse is great. It's a shame every interview she does is about how no one can pronounce her name

I remember it from the song she did on Saturday Night Live where it rhymes with inertia. Always did find rhyming a good memory aid :milner:

I love her as an actress, but she can f*** off with her name. I saw her do an interview in which she complained about people who didn't know how to pronounce it. "It's not difficult" she said, arrogantly. And it's not, when you know it. But it's hardly a straightforward pronunciation that people would instantly assume. And with celebrities being such a sensitive bunch of pricks, who would risk getting it wrong.

I can't think of any words in which the letters rse are pronounced sha. I've no doubt there are some but it's not your first thought. Maybe it's common in gaelic, but how many people are familiar with gaelic. It's like Niamh. People struggled with Siobhan Fahey's name for years, she never whinged about it.

She seems like the least arrogant person ever so I'm amazed if she came across as arrogant or you've just over analysed a jokey comment she might have made

Have you got a clip? In nearly every interview I've seen of her she acknowledges her name is a difficult one

Obviously her agent advised her to change her attitude.

Hmm, not sure about Rhyming, but sing, or creating a song, certainly helps. It's how I used to remember dessert orders when  I was a waiter.

The Interview.

Not the one with Franco and Rogan, an Aussie effort starring Hugo Weaving. Canny film. It's not particularly pacey, but feels a lot shorter than 1:40.

Caught the trailer for ‘Portrait of a Lady on Fire’ before ‘Parasite’ last night. Looks promising. ‘Blue is the Warmest Color’ as a period piece.

‘Parasite’ was excellent. Gripping film from beginning to end.

Parasite is a wonderful film and while it certainly deserves to be regarded as the film of the year, in everybody's eyes, the Oscars can f*** off. No way it wins anything without the furore about representation. I've no doubt they f***ing hate themselves for giving in. It'll be another 70 years before the next foreign film wins.

I really loathe the fact that the academy can get good press from this.

I watched two Korean movies over the weekend The Handmaiden & Burning.

I much preferred the latter.

For me the Handmaiden felt like beautiful trash wheres the Burning intrigued me with it's mystery and pacing. Had much more substance.

That said they had virtually nothing in common other than them both being from South Korean Directors.
