We need to riot if this doesn't win an Oscar like. #bong4life

Just won its first of the night for Screenplay.
Best foreign language film (was always winning that) and now best director as well. Think it might even win best film, every time it's been mentioned it gets the loudest cheers.
And there it just won best picture, first time a non-English language film has won it.

Good s***.
So raise your fists and march around
Dont dare take what you need
I'll jail and bury those committed
And smother the rest in greed
Crawl with me into tomorrow
Or i'll drag you to your grave
I'm deep inside your children
They'll betray you in my name

Watched Nightcrawler again last night. Still not entirely satisfied with the ending but Jake Gyllenhaal is genuinely class in it.

Saw Uncut Gems at the weekend, it was so exciting for what is quite a low key story. I was palping like I was on loads of beak.

Knives Out

Daniel Craig's accent and to a lesser extent his rather arch performance take's a bit of getting used to, but this is a fun romp which pokes fun at the traditional whodunnit whilst still using many of the tropes. I remembered enjoying Brick at the time, can't believe how long ago that film was now :(

Ford vs Ferrari

Another enjoyable romp. Another slightly mad performance this time by Christian Bale, sporting some outrageous facial expressions and a slightly dodgy Yorkshire accent (better than his wife's mind!) Totally charmed me by the end, I was routing for them without feeling obvious emotional manipulation or crass sentimentality (they really could have gone for jugular by the end!)

Good movie weekend for us, perfect with a few Weißbiers and some high quality savory snacks.

One of my fave films, and still stands up well today thanks to the superb dialogue.

I've not seen it yet but Ken Miles was from Sutton Coldfield near Birmingham so was Christian Bale not doing a Brummie accent?
Thier is not a word. "Their" is the correct spelling.

Win, Lose or Draw. NOT "Loose"!

Really, I'll amend my 'slightly dodgy' to 'pretty shocking' on that basis then!

It was absolutely a Brummie accent, and a decent one at that.

Ladybird on Netflix, looked like my kind of thing but I'd say it was just OK. Nice message though.
