pumped for the james wan remake
So raise your fists and march around
Dont dare take what you need
I'll jail and bury those committed
And smother the rest in greed
Crawl with me into tomorrow
Or i'll drag you to your grave
I'm deep inside your children
They'll betray you in my name

Sleep now in the fire

I really hope the upcoming one isn't total s****. T3 is pants but is leagues above Salvation, whilst Genisys is a complete embarrassment to the point of being insulting. Blade Runner 2049 softened my attitude towards 'unnecessary sequels,' because it proved that they can be relevant if done well. The Terminator franchise, assuming it's never going away, is begging for something like that.

I'm not wildly optimistic, however. The Deadpool director is leading it and Arnie's involved... so you can only assume he's intent on tediously elongating this unnecessary parody of what was a brilliant and earnest character.

Enjoyed that first vid, although it may be slight over-analysis .
Obviously, I'm speaking of a hypothetical world in which there is a greater club than Tottenham.

Genuinely amazed that it took you so long to watch Terminator though, Mike. I mean, we're similar ages, and I remember as a kid watching Commando with my mates, after which we sought out every Arnie movie we could find. I am probably one of the few people on here who have watched "Hercules In New York" FFS.

 To be fair I was always super into Asian stuff from like 1990 until age won. Back then I wouldn't have been interested unless Chow Yun-Fat was in it. Was dead snobby about where and how I got my action fix. :anguish:

Pretty much devoured whatever HK action I could get, then it was 60's-70's Japan Yakuza/Samurai s*** and then Korea blew up after Shiri. Now you've got the Raid lads and I'm at an age where I have to watch a movie three times to see it all as I keep dozing off, ffs. I never would have seen it if I hadn't gotten hurt. I've seen more films in the last six weeks than in the previous 10 years, I bet.

Terminator is a fantastic film, and it's a shame I was too snobby to consider it back then. Cost of being a stuck up c***.

 I caught Hercules in NY like 20 years ago at 3am on channel 7, though. The dubbed Arnie is laughs. I've missed most of his flicks, tbh. iirc I only saw Commando a few years ago.

Have you seen Total Recall, Mike? Superb film and probably dates better than even The Terminator.

 Yeah, that makes more sense. When I was young - I mean, really young - I didn't give a f*** and would watch anything. I will always remember going to the cinema to watch Jaws: The Revenge, Police Academy: The Miami Beach One etc etc. I would get the Radio Times/TV Times at Xmas before the school holidays (TV listings in the UK) and plan out my movie-watching. We didn't have cable, just three or four terrestrial channels, so there wasn't much choice, but I watched everything. This is where I developed an intimate knowledge of stuff like Cannonball Run 2, Beyond the Poseidon Adventure and every single Bond movie etc. It was only really at college when I became a pretentious dick, then I went to work in record shops and became a pretentious dick across many formats. I guess I just never became a specialist dick in a particular genre.

Here's the thing, and apropos of nothing, but I should probably get this on the record. The first couple of series of Big Bang Theory are really good. It essentially fell apart when Blossom joined.

I would post the Rocky/Creed beach montage gif if it wasn't faintly racist to do so .

I’ve never seen Terminator. T2 was good, pretty groundbreaking in terms of CGI at the time. One of those I don’t feel the need to watch again. That series isn’t my cup of tea.

Terminator is f***ing miles better. It's right beneath Predator, imo. It's f***ing incredible. It's 80's as f***, but it's fantastic.

It's streaming on Prime, D.

Terminator is f***ing unbelievable like. 35 years later, still watch it whenever it's on. Cannot beat the scene in Tech Noir when she knocks her drink ower and the Terminator just misses seeing her, giving Reese the time he needs. Don't know if Cameron deliberately made a comment on fate in that scene but even if accidental, I've watched that scene a thousand times

Enjoy:

Brilliant mate, cheers. Perhaps a little known fact here, the music played in the background is Tahnee Cane (real name Tane McClure) with the band Trianglz. She did a s***-ton of soft core porn in the 90's but was originally a singer. I love Burning in the Third Degree so much, I bought the damn album in a thrift shop in the 90s

Birdbox, really enjoyed it.

Liked that too, was a bit cynical prior to watching it about the whole "Bullock turns in a powerhouse performance" bollocks, but it's pretty good

Ralph Breaks the Internet - Okay, I'm rather scared to say I enjoy things these days, but I enjoyed this.  It was GOOD.  Not great cinema, just a good kids film. :hmm:
Making mistakes is how you learn.
Every generation must fight the same battles again and again and again. There is no final victory, and there is no final defeat, and so a little bit of history may help.
“What power have you got? Where did you get it from? In whose interests do you exercise it? To whom are you accountable? And how can we get rid of you?” If you cannot get rid of the people who govern you, you do not live in a democratic system.
That is why no one with power likes democracy and that is why every generation must struggle to win it and keep it – including you and me, here and now.

 Not the gif itself, just that often seems to get posted when somebody agrees with you. Like the next option is Stevie and Paul McCartney on a piano.

I'm no superhero person but I absolutely loved it.
Before that why didn't the Wigan fans just walk the the Stewart's, the Stewart's only went up to the touchline, their was a big gap between the end of the Stewart's and the stand they could have walked through.

Feels like there's casting controversy in films every week now.

Casting Will Smith as Serena and Venus Williams' father has been criticised because he's too light skinned

The Big Short
Venom - Minging
Ant-Man and The Wasp - meh
The Meg but missed the end
Deadpool 2 - some laughs here and there but pretty much the same thing again.
