Does a particular actor having a contract guarantee a continuation of their character or is it all up to the studio? Actor can't get out of it but studio can, sort of thing?

There are many ways out of contracts, but essentially the most common way would be the studio paying up the remaining contract and not put them in any pictures, but that is a solid chunk of money going to waste even for a colossus like Marvel.

A comparison could be Game of Thrones, where everyone got signed up for six seasons at the beginning even if their character would die along the way. They'd get paid for all six seasons, but not appear in all. That way HBO protected themselves against both wage raises for six seasons and knew they could keep a character longer if they so wished.

Yes and no. There were talks of bringing him back for flashbacks many times. But think it got structured so he only got paid for one season with an option for appearances in further seasons.

I heard that Jon, Tyrion, Cersei, Jaime, Arya, Sansa and Daenerys are all out of contract after the next season.  Going to be carnage.

Part of the reason there's so few episodes in season seven and eight is down to them not structuring eight season contracts, because holy f*** those wage increases after season six

Is season 8 not the final season?

Downsizing has some terrible reviews but I thought it was very good and the Vietnamese lass was great.

is ready player one worth watching if you know nothing about the book?
So raise your fists and march around
Dont dare take what you need
I'll jail and bury those committed
And smother the rest in greed
Crawl with me into tomorrow
Or i'll drag you to your grave
I'm deep inside your children
They'll betray you in my name

Traffic. Not watched it in a while. Nothing massively original or anything. But it’s got some nice different takes on the usual drug cartels story. Del Toro is the boy.

Jarhead. Thought the film in isolation was boring, but that's kind of the point of it, approaching war as largely overwhelming boredom due to the insufferable waiting and the mental effects that has on the soldiers. So I appreciated it for that.
But...6 in a row. But...Calciopoli.

Just watched Kon-Tiki, it’s a movie adaption of Thor Heyerdahls book and is an account of his attempt to prove his thesis that the French Polynesia was actually first habited by people from the East rather than the West.
He did this by sailing a wooden raft with 4 others from Peru to French’s Polynesia....I suspect the book will be better but it’s an insight to the expedition.

After having Under The Skin on my watchlist for ages I finally got round to watching it. What a bizarre movie, an alien Scarlet Johansson driving a white van around Glasgow and the West coast of Scotland picking up blokes

And that's not even weird compared to the rest of the movie.
