I think the lines on the screen are meant to inform the viewer what is happening but that's actually the biggest problem with it as it stands. Elsewhere in Europe you just see the freeze frame and then you get the decision. It allows leeway for the referee in the booth to give an onside decision where it is too tight to call without looking at individual pixels. Once you've put those ridiculous lines on the screen, you're giving the viewer too much information.

Presumably they don't give out that level of information in the Bundesliga, where we're told VAR works fine?

Unfortunately think we're stuck with it as it is until the end of the season. Would be unfair on teams that have had goals disallowed to change it at this stage

Liverpool seem to be getting even more bullshit spawny decisions go their way than last year even with "the great leveller" of VAR.

I'd love to know where this 50fps bollocks came from, Hawkeye goes up to 340fps.

It's a while since this post was commented on.
Is anyone else seriously sick of VAR?
I was really for it (being a cricket fan and that works well) but it is just a mess. Utterly marginal decisions by a millimetre. Delays. Lack of celebration until reviewed.
The whole point of it was to stop blatant bad decisions by referees, not what's going on now.
Scrap it asap and let's get back to an error prone game.
Opnions?

  There absolutely nowt wrong with VAR.  In fact it's excellent.  The people running it and controlling it is another matter.

We literally won yesterday due to VAR. Both of the "key" decisions initially went against us - as we have seen for decades - but were reversed after VAR.

It's a deeply flawed system, just seems an odd time to criticise it

Red card in our favour has been a long time coming. the number of players who have missed games due to unpunished horror challenges have really had an effect on our season. Ritchie and Manquilo are the two that come to mind immediately but there have been others.
john gibson in the chronicle this afternoon;
"John Carver has talked of playing two up top in an effort to score goals, tactically be more direct to grind out points, and just about every other possibility known to man or beast. They are the ramblings of a drowning desperado."
